No one can deny the simple pleasure of opening a
fridge filled with inspiring ingredients. However,
today’s household puts greater demands on the
humble fridge than ever before. It must keep a
variety of foods stored at their optimum freshness
through all seasons, and seeing as though it’s the
only appliance in the home that is constantly ‘on’, it
must be incredibly energy efficient in a world of evershrinking resources.

Sharp knows healthy food is important for healthy living
/This is Why our fridge-freezers actively remove mould
spores, microbes and odours.
Sharp’s pioneering Plasmacluster Technology is an
active air cleaning system that uses air ionisation to
eliminate the build up of airborne mould spores,
microbes and odours.
ELIMINATES AIRBORNE
MOULD SPORES, MICROBES
AND ODOURS.
Originally invented to purify the air in our air purifiers,
it didn’t take long to realise it could also be used to
purify the internal atmosphere of our fridge-freezers.
The system works by automatically releasing positive
and negative ions into the fridge, where they break
down airborne mould spores, bacteria and odour
molecules. This process is completely natural and
mimics the way nature produces fresh air. The air then
passes through a special filter, which ensures that all
odours are completely eliminated.
Unlike traditional filtration systems, the Plasmacluster
Ion Generator does not lose its effectiveness and
never needs cleaning or replacing.
Thanks to this unique technology the contents of
your fridge will look, smell and taste ‘just-bought’
fresh for longer.

Hybrid cooling
Sharp understands that it takes more than cold air to keep
produce fresh /This is Why we’ve developed a system that
maintains temperature and humidity at even levels in every
corner of our fridge-freezers.
Our Hybrid Cooling System combines true fan cooling
with direct cooling for a highly efficient method
of keeping the temperature consistent – in every part
of your fridge.
The aluminium panel at the back of the fridge is chilled
to approximately 0°C, which maintains the freshness of
the food. At the same time, an advanced fan assisted
air flow system distributes the cold air, which ensures
uniform cooling, even in hard to reach areas like
corners and door pockets, and prevents frost build up.
An additional benefit of keeping the temperature
even, is that food cools down more quickly, therefore
preserving its nutrients and flavour for longer.
Circulating this chilled, humid air around the interior
also helps to prevent foods from drying out.
So you get increased energy efficiency and better
tasting food that stays fresher for longer.
Inverter Technology is an innovative system using
variable rather than fixed compressor control. The
temperature inside the fridge is automatically
monitored and kept at an optimum level through
small adjustments to the speed of the compressor.
The result is that Sharp fridge-freezers offer up to an
incredible A++ energy rating.

the LED lighting in our fridges makes everything
inside look temptingly gorgeous.
Our new fridge-freezers have LED side panel lighting,
which ensures the inside of the fridge is evenly lit,
even when it is full to capacity. The crisp blue/white
light makes colours stand out and packaging easier to
read. LED lighting is also more efficient than traditional
bulbs as it lasts approximately 10 times longer.
Every model in the SJ range is packed full of useful
integrated features that include;

and be practical /This is Why our new fridge doors
open a world of possibilities.
Our patented Dual Swing Door, available on the premium
and super premium models, is beautifully simple, though
it conceals a great deal of high-end engineering.
It uses a new hinge lock technology that enables you
to open the door in either direction, doing away with
the need to re-hang it should you change your kitchen
layout or move home.
This increased flexibility means that you can also choose
to place your fridge in the centre of your workspace
rather than in one of the corners, making your kitchen
even more practical. Being able to open the door both
ways also makes it much easier to clean around the
door seal, further highlighting the design’s practicality.
And our designers have ensured that its sleek good looks
in stylish silver or dramatic titanium black are enhanced
by sturdy pull-out handles and concealed hinges.
