• Must be worn over a collared standard attire shirt; the one size larger rule applies.
• No hoods, zippers or pockets on sweatshirts.
• May be worn inside building as long as
standard attire guidelines are met and
they are not tied around the waist.
BELTS
What to Wear:
PANTS / SHORTS
• Dress pants or docker style pants, shorts, skirts, capris, skorts and jumpers
are acceptable.
• Dresses, skirts, shorts and skorts must
be no shorter than five inches from the
top of the kneecap. Pants, shorts and
slacks must be worn at the natural waistline.
• No cargo style or patched pockets on
any garment allowed (no elastic band/
drawstring in waist or bottom of pant
legs/ankles).
SHIRTS / TOPS
• Long/short sleeved collared shirts (polo
type or oxford style are acceptable) and
must be tucked in during the school day.
• A long sleeved undershirt is acceptable
only under a standard attire shirt in acceptable school colors. Both shirts must
be a solid school color.
• A belt must be worn at all times if the
garment has belt loops.
• Only a plain, solid or braided black or
brown leather belt with a standard buckle
is acceptable.
COATS / JACKETS
• Must be left in locker while in the building.
Note: Austin Montessori students have
additional guidelines available at the school.
OTHER PROVISIONS
• Colors of garments are determined by a
campus committee that includes parents.
• Students must wear shoes at all times—
taps, metal plates, or cleats on shoes will
not be permitted; prohibited footwear
includes slippers or footwear not intended for outdoor wear or shoes equipped
with roller blades/wheels. Flip flops are
acceptable.
• Student ID’s must be worn with a school
issued lanyard on campus as part of standard attire.
• Clothing must be worn the way it was
designed to be worn; all logos must be
removed from garments; one size larger
rule applies to all clothing.
• Students may not wear hats, caps, sweat
bands, visors, head coverings, or bandanas in the building; bandanas are not
allowed on campus.
• Undergarments may not be visible
through clothing.
• Disruptive, unsafe or distractive modes
of clothes, eyewear, tattoos or appearances that adversely impact the education process are not acceptable. Included
in this category are slit skirts, skin tight
clothing, clothing with holes or frays.
• Tattoos must be covered at all times.

Regulations
PANTS
Khaki, navy blue, or black casual pants with belt
loops. Pants must be worn on the waist and fit so that
pant does not fall below the waist. Pants must be hemmed
appropriately. Pants may not be torn at the seams and may
not drag on the ground. Pant bottoms may not be rolled up
to form cuffs. Pants must be worn on the outside of all footwear. Pants may not be tucked into shoes or socks.
DO NOT WEAR oversized, baggy, saggy, wide-leg,
low-riders, below the waist, tight, hip huggers, cargo,
stretch pants (leggings/jeggings/yoga cloth-like materials) or suggestive pants. No joggers.
GROOMING
Students will be required to wear their hair wellgroomed and clean at all times. Unnatural or extreme
modes of hair design and color will not be permitted;
Mohawks are permitted as long as they are under 2
inches in height.

SHIRTS
Middle School campus approved polos or campus
spirit shirts. Shirts must be long enough to be tucked
in at all times. DO NOT WEAR see-thru blouses or
shirts. Students may wear a solid navy blue, gray, black,
or white long or short sleeve t-shirt under their campus shirt. PE/Athletic attire may only be worn
during Physical Education class.
SHOES
Students must wear shoes at all times – taps, metal

UNIFORM MIDDLE SCHOOLS
If there is a violation, the student shall
be given an opportunity to correct the
problem. If not corrected, the student
shall be assigned to in-school suspension for the remainder of the day or until the problem is corrected. Repeated
dress code offenses may result in more
serious disciplinary action. Appropriate
discipline procedures shall be followed
in all cases in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
SHORTS
Khaki, navy blue, or black casual shorts with belt
loops. Short and skirt lengths shall be no more than 5
inches above the knee (shorts and skirts purchased with
slits will be measured for 5-inch requirement from the
top of the slit to knee). DO NOT WEAR oversized,
saggy, baggy, low-riders, below the waist, tight, hip
huggers, suggestive or cargo shorts. “Shin length”
shorts for boys are unacceptable. PE/Athletic attire
may only be worn during Physical Education class.
HATS
No caps, beanies, hats, or any other head covering shall be worn on campus. Bandanas are not
allowed on campus.
JEWELRY
Hoops may be no larger than a quarter size. Crystal, diamond, and stud earrings may be no larger
than ¼ inch. No more than two necklaces, bracelets, rings, or two pairs of earrings are permitted.
Spikes, safety pins, pull tabs, paper clips, chains or
dog collars are not appropriate. Jewelry reflecting
gangs, gothic, or Para-Military related items including but not limited to rings, bracelets, and chokers
are not allowed.

BACKPACKS
For campuses not issuing lockers, all student backpacks must be clear plastic or
mesh. For those campuses issuing lockers,
student backpacks must be stored in lockers during the school day but can be traditional canvas/nylon/leather materials. All backpacks
must be free from enhancements or writing that
advertise, glorify, or support offensive, lewd, vulgar,
obscene or profane language, images or gestures,
gangs, illegal activities, tobacco, sex, alcohol, illegal
drugs, or violence.
BELTS
Belts are optional. If a student chooses to wear
a belt, it must be a plain brown or black belt for
boys and girls. No initial or oversized buckles.
Belts may not be oversized so that the end of
the belt hangs down. Belts may not have studs or
metal trappings.
OUTERWEAR
No oversized outerwear. MS approved polo
or campus spirit shirts must be worn underneath outer wear at all times.
OVERALL APPEARANCE
Clothes are to be well kept, presentable, clean, and
neat at all times.
