Its ability to support reliable high capacity data in a mobile tactical environment is the essence of the K-TaCS´ success. K-TaCS is designed to operate in a tactical environment including excellent abilities to handle EW threats, to deliver full functionality in autonomous mode as well as in a large network operation. High level encryption is supported throughout the system. Typical K-TaCS applications are IP networks, TDM networks, C4I systems, surveillance systems, tactical area communication systems, air defence, command post communication, mobile extension of tactical area systems and soldier systems. Cost effectiveness is ensured due to the small size and light weight of the K-TaCS equipment, requiring smaller and fewer vehicles. A communication node is established in a short time, by a few soldiers. The KONGSBERG K-TaCS system is designed for use in harsh environments including arctic, desert and tropical areas. All units are ruggedised by design. Long term availability and support is ensured by KONGSBERG. RL542A Radio Link Fully ruggedised equipment, high reliability, high survivability and ease of use are key elements to the success of K-TaCS. The outstanding ability to deliver systems that exceed customer expectations is an important aspect of KONGSBERG solutions. RL532A Radio Link 4 RADIO LINKS EXTREME PERFORMANCE FOR EXTREME CONDITIONS R L 532 A A N D R L 542 A , IP AND TDM RADIO LINKS The RL532A and RL542A Radio Links provide reliable and secure communication links in a hostile Electronic Warfare (EW) environment. The unique EPM/ECCM methods used are a combination of automatic output power control and an advanced frequency hopping technique. RL532A and RL542 operate in NATO Band III+ and Band IV respectively and support data rates up to 34 and 100 Mbit/s. They provide ports for both TDM and IP networks simultaneously. The TDM port utilizes EUROCOM, ITU V.11 and G.703. The IP port utilizes IEEE 802.3 Ethernet or V.11, enabling interfacing of routers in an IP-based network. LAN extensions are also supported. The two ports are individually configured to the required data rate. The Radio Links are self-instructing with a high degree of automatic functions for ease of operation. A radio link can be configured and established in a very short time. The operator has access to all radio parameters through the local front panel MMI, from a local PC or remotely from the K-TaCS CMS computer (Communication Management System). Strong EPM/ECCM features are available. The Radio Links offer standard- and adaptive frequency hopping. In the adaptive frequency hopping mode a jammed frequency will automatically be removed from the hop set. Automatic frequency evasion is available in fixed frequency operation. EPM/ECCM FEATURES INCLUDE: • Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH): High hopping rate combined with automatic removal of jammed frequencies. • Automatic Power Control (APC): Power output is automatically reduced to the minimum needed - to avoid detection, and automatic step-up at jamming or interference. • Automatic Frequency Evasion (AFE): At interference - automatic switchover to another frequency pair. • Pulse-Jammer Protection (PJP): Advanced channel coding techniques (FEC and Interleaving) in combination with a pulse-jammer detection algorithm that prevents loss of synchronization. • Built-in AES256 encryption is available as an option. 5 I P X 6 00 THE MOST INTEROPERABLE TDM SWITCH/IP ROUTER ON THE MARKET IPX600 – TACTICAL ROUTER AND MEDIA GATEWAY IPX600 integrates IP networks and legacy tactical networks and provides IP networks with Military Gateways. Typical applications are sensor networks, soldier systems, command posts, C4I systems and as a mobile extension of tactical area systems. The radios have ad-hoc networking features. The user will reach intended destination for both voice and data communication with the multi hop capability. The radios operate without any Master in the network. The TacLAN product family consists of a vehicle- and a soldier radio. Both radios are fully compatible and offer data rates up to 2.5 Mbit/s. The soldier radio is designed to be used in advanced soldier systems where sharing of data within a platoon is an essential goal. The network will support a number of parallel voice connections. The radios have an Ethernet interface, support standard IP features and provide ad-hoc networking with adaptive multihop routing. Built-in AES256 encryption is available. SR600 TacLAN operates in the 225 to 400 MHz UHF band I to provide a good balance between range, data rate and RF output power. The soldier radio SR600 has selectable RF output power, up to 1W allowing a mission specific range vs. battery lifetime optimization. The vehicular radios provide up to 5W output power. The radios can provide different network capacities based on selected RF bandwidth. Depending on chosen network capacity, the radio can handle up to 6 parallel voice networks and one IP multi hop data network in one RF network. The flexible software in the radio facilitates new services to be implemented in support of customer specific applications. 8 WM600 All in one RF-network VOICE NETS Platoon commander Platoon Net Squad leader Squad 1 Squad Nets /1/ DATA NET UM600 TAC L A N N E T W O R K • Squad members have a separate net.
