College Hillsong Evening College offers 4 different streams of study to fit in with your busy lifestyle! The way I look at the Bible and the way I look at the way the Bible speaks to me has changed. The small groups are the heart of Evening College. It’s where students get to discuss what the lecturers have been teaching us. Ezekiel - Hills. STREAM 1 Ministry Basics Ministry Basics is a holistic training course that will help you learn to apply God’s word in a very practical way, as we study the Bible, Leadership, Lifestyle and Theology. This course will help to equip you for your personal ministry. Course Acknowledgement: Each subject runs for 7 weeks and you can choose to study per subject, semester or for the year - to fit into your lifestyle. Attendance: Learning Sessions: One night per week for 2 ½ hours in total (2 hours of learning) and will include 2 teaching sessions, 1 application session + a supper break. Teaching Sessions - each week will include 2 x 50min sessions - lecture style Application Sessions - each week will consist of 1 x 25min group session where homework and previous teaching sessions will be used to stimulate discussion. Homework: Each week you will get a small amount of work to complete @ home. It should take about 20 minutes to complete and it will be used to stimulate discussion the following week in our Application Session Time. There are also some “Advanced Questions” for those who wish to do more in-depth study. Subject certificates will be issued to those studying individual subjects and those completing all four subjects will be presented with a course completion certificate at the end of the year. Each week we ask that you mark your attendance on the roll provided. 80% attendance is required per subject to receive your course completion certificate. Subjects Include: Bible: Learn how to read the bible devotionally and for study purposes. Study the historical background to the bible, how to use the bible, study tools, how to get new revelations from the bible. Leadership: Learn effective leadership qualities and skills that can build your own life and the lives of others, seeing the kingdom move forward and expand the Godly leadership principles that are found throughout the Bible. Lifestyle: How to build a strong devotional life: how to find your purpose in God, and live a life that can fulfil that purpose, how to hear from God. Theology: Develop a personal theology in a biblical and thoughtful way that will be a blessing to you and your church community. I wanted my life to be about something other than myself and my career. I wanted to learn about God and His heart for people and to learn to live that out and make a difference! STREAM 2 Ministry Foundations This course caters for those who really want to go deeper into the word through part-time study. Each subject goes for 14 weeks, giving time and space to explore key topics more thoroughly. The subjects taught are drawn from our first year full time college courses. This means, if you choose to do assessments with your study, you can become eligible for credits in Hillsong College’s accredited courses. Or you can just enjoy the teaching without doing the assessments. You can enrol in Ministry Foundations for a whole year or just for a semester. Note: This course does not cover sufficient subjects to gain an entire qualification. However, eligible students can receive a Statement of Attainment and credits from Hillsong College. Learning Sessions: One night per week for 2 ½ hours in total (2 hours of learning) Teaching Sessions - each week will include 2 x 60min sessions - lecture style Assessments: Assessments vary between short answer questions and/or exams depending on subject. Course Acknowledgement: Subject certificates will be issued to those studying individual subjects and those completing 2 subjects will be presented with a course completion certificate at the end of the year. Statements of Attainment will be issued to students who select and successfully complete the requirements of the assessment option. Attendance: Each week we ask that you mark your attendance on the roll provided. 80% attendance is required per subject to receive your course completion certificate. Subjects Include: Old Testament Introduction: This subject provides you with an introduction to the Old Testament and consideration of God’s progressive revelation of Himself through the Old Testament. You will learn how God revealed Himself through Creation and the history of Israel, and how He prepared His people for the fulfilment of His plans in Jesus Christ. Christian Doctrine: This subject surveys some key doctrines of the Christian Faith. It looks at the teaching of those doctrines in the context of modern Christian living and examines how they apply to everyday faith The course includes: The Word of God, Righteousness and Sin, Humanity, Angels, Satan and Evil Spirits, Salvation, The Church and End Times. New Testament Introduction: This subject provides you with an overview of the New Testament and each of the books, linking it to it’s historical background, the ministry of Jesus and the growth of the early church You will also develop the knowledge and skills required to read and study the NT for your own personal growth and for use in ministry. Personal Evangelism: This subject will help you develop your Christian evangelistic lifestyle and your ability to build appropriate relationships with non-christians. You will also learn to share your own testimony in a constructive and concise manner without using Christian terms. Spirit Filled Living: This subject covers many aspects of the Holy Spirit including Jesus and the Holy Spirit, Gifts of Tongues and Interpretation, Learning to Minister in Power, Divine Healing, Laying on of Hands, Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Walking in the Holy Spirit. My understanding of God, the Bible and myself has been enlarged and increased. As a single mum I love the flexibility and format of Evening College. It has given me the opportunity to study and has inspired me to further my studies with Hillsong International Leadership College. Anne - Hills. STREAM 3 Faithworks Faithworks will provide you with keys to living an abundant life and it will launch you into a new level of faith, commitment and leadership in every sphere of your life! Attendance: Each week we ask that you mark your attendance on the roll provided. 80% attendance is required per subject to receive your course completion certificate. Every believer is saved and called for a God-given purpose. Living a powerful Christian life involves finding and pursuing God’s purpose for your life. Here you will be introduced to what the Bible says about God’s purpose for your life and how it fits into His purposes for His Church in this generation. You will discover how you are personally and uniquely shaped for your destiny, how you can identify your purpose, and what qualities will help you successfully fulfil your purpose. The Heart of God and The Cross The Word of God Worship and The Spirit Filled Life Faith and God’s Covenants Transforming Your Thought Life The Spirit of an Overcomer Attitudes that Build the House One night per week for 2 ½ hours in total (2 hours of learning) Teaching Sessions - each week will include 2 x 60min sessions - lecture style Assessment: The assessment is a reflection journal on what you have learnt whilst studying each Semester. Course Acknowledgement: A course completion certificate will be issued for completing the full year of study. STREAM 4 Lifekey Programs We can all be better equipped to lead successful lives but sometimes life throws us challenges that take us by surprise and leave us wondering how to overcome our circumstances. We offer great short programs (7 to 10 weeks) that address the issues of ordinary people, struggling with everyday life. Programs Include: Valiant Man: Valiant Man challenges men to step up and become what God created them to be. It is an opportunity to conquer the issues of sexuality. Understanding your Valiant Man: Many woman want to understand the men in their lives. This companion program developed for women, allows them to see and understand the journey the men involved in the Valiant Man program are taking. Search for Intimacy: This program explores finding a life partner and handling sexuality, it gives a framework for life that empowers you to have fulfilled and successful relationships. This program is for guys and girls, whether you are dating or single. Search for Life: (This program is a pre-requisite for Facilitator Training.) Everyone has a heart felt desire to be valued, accepted, loved and to feel that they have significance. Search for Life addresses these needs and explains where the desires originate and how we can negotiate them well. Woman to Woman: Every woman carries with her the strengths and weaknesses of her background. She carries the legacy of her past into all her relationships – family, business and church. This program will show participants how to free themselves from the past, focus on the future and provide strategies and skills needed to make positive and lasting changes in relationships. Boundaries in Marriage: You long for a marriage marked by lifelong love, intimacy and growth. And it can be yours – if you set wise boundaries. Boundaries are the “property lines” that define and protect each of you as individuals. Get them in place and you can make a good marriage better and possibly even save a less-than-satisfying one. Making Marriage Better: This program is a great tool for married couples and topics include: keys to a lasting relationship, the origin and purpose of marriage, communication, investing time, family of origin, conflict management, sexuality and intimacy. Divorce Care: This program aims to bring hope and healing for people experiencing separation or divorce. Each week you’ll hear from experts on topics related to divorce and separation via DVD. Grief Share: This program is designed to provide support for people recovering from the deep hurt that comes with the death of someone close. Our aim is to see God bring healing and hope for your future. Parenting with courage: This program aims to provide parents with great self-understanding as well as enhanced skills for parenting. It is for families with older primary and high school aged children who seek how to be better equipped as well as provide support for those who are currently facing challenges. Facilitator Training: (Pre-requisite Search for Life and Key Leader’s referral.) This program contains a strong component of practical group work with development of related skills. It aims to lay a sound information base in behavioural, emotional and spiritual aspects of recovery. Note: Admission by interview only.
