There are many beautiful places within the resort where you will be able
to have your Wedding ceremony. You'll have trouble deciding. Choosing the
location can be made easier by visiting the various sites after arriving at the
resort. Upon your arrival, one of our Event Services Executives will conduct
a personal tour of your selected ceremony location.

STELLA MARIS CHAPEL
The Stella Maris Chapel nestled in the hills of the island is bounded by a lush
tropical landscape and enjoys breathtaking vistas of the resort, Whitsunday
Passage and neighbouring islands. This stunning outlook, complemented by
the chapel’s rich Queensland timbers, ceiling to floor glass walls and
expansive verandah, provides a unique setting for small weddings and parties
of up to 40 guests.

With a selection of world-class restaurants, Hayman can cater for many
tastes and moods. Outdoor dining venues can also be arranged with a
menu specially designed to suit. Our large selection of local and
international wines can be selected from and recommended to accompany
your reception menu.
Azure - Savour the finest in contemporary Australian cuisine, specialising in
fresh seafood, in this breathtaking indoor and outdoor beachside setting.
Capacity - 150 guests.
Oriental - Indulge in specialities of Asian culture in a restaurant of superb
antiques and artifacts, or in a Japanese garden housing a ceremonial teahouse
and scattered dining platforms. Capacity - 80 guests.
La Fontaine - Dine on French influenced cuisine amid magnificent Louis XVI
furnishings and Waterford Crystal chandeliers and select from a cellar of
vintages from the world's premier vineyards. Capacity - 75 guests.
La Fontaine Private Dining Room - decorated in Louis XIVth style is
guaranteed to provide the touch of elegance to any occasion. Capacity - 12
guests.
La Trattoria - Enjoy home-style Italian and Mediterranean dining in the rustic
indoor and outdoor surrounds of local timbers, hand beaten chandeliers,
hanging vines and terracotta tiles. Capacity - 120 guests.
Beach Pavilon - located on the Lagoon side of Hayman, the Beach Pavilion is
the perfect location to enjoy a refreshing cocktail or indulgent buffet whilst
watching a magical Whitsunday sunset. Capacity - 55 guests.
If you wish to book a restaurant for a private function there are minimum spend
costs on Food & Beverage that must be met. These start from $6500. Set-up fees
apply for the use of furniture other than what is within the restaurant.

OUTDOOR VENUES
Lagoon Lanai - A lavish sandstone courtyard that is surrounded by lush
tropical gardens and water features. The Lagoon Lanai offers a tranquil,
spacious and luxurious setting for your Wedding reception.
The Formal Garden - Hayman’s signature garden is transformed into an
elegant dining setting with a single long table elaborately decorated with
candelabras, the finest glass and silverware, chair covers and spectacular floral
centrepieces.
Hayman Beach or Coconut Beach - Enjoy a sumptuous dinner on the sand.
The tables are laid with the finest silver and pristine white table cloths and
are set against a backdrop of the Milky Way. Candlelight and spectacular
floral arrangements help to add elegance to your evening under the stars.
Eastern Lawn - This lawn nestled in between our Azure and Beach Pavilion
restaurants, allows for you to dine in style and enjoy uninterrupted views of
the Hayman Beach and Whitsunday waters. Perfect for both lunch and
evening receptions.
Coconut Grove - The grove overlooks Coconut Beach and the tranquil
Whitsunday passage. Pefect for either a day or night function, the wide set
location provides plenty of space for dining and dancing.
Beach Cabana- Marvel at the breathtaking view of the Whitsunday Passage
as you enjoy an intimate meal served to you in a private cabana for two
complete with wine, table service and a sumptuous meal. Your candlelight
dinner will be a truly romantic affair.
All venues are subject to availability, number of guests and weather conditions.
Some reception menus may not be available at all reception venues.
Note: A set-up fee is applicable for any reception locations and is priced from $500. This
includes tables, chairs, white linen table cloth, cream chair covers, white linen napkins,
crockery, cutlery, glassware, basic lighting and condiments. There is also a 10.30pm noise
curfew for all outdoor reception venues. Your function will need to end at this time and
may be moved to The Club Lounge (open until late). For larger groups, Planters can be
utilised as an exclusive venue. Complimentary venue hire available based on minimum
food and beverage spend.

suit your tastes and requirements. Size and decoration can vary from a onetiered round cake with fresh flowers to a three-tiered cup cake on a stand.
You may choose to have the cake at the ceremony or incorporated into
your Wedding reception menu as dessert.

The Ultimate and Pure Indulgence Wedding packages include a simple, one
tiered Wedding cake made to serve the number of guests attending your
wedding with white blanket icing.
Fresh flowers which complement your bridal bouquet are included in the
decoration of your cake at an additional charge.
You may wish to enhance your Wedding cake with the addition of an extra
tier, sugared flowers all of which are available at an additional charge. Please
forward any designs to your Wedding Coordinator as they need to be
reviewed and accepted by our Pastry Chefs.
If you are supplying your own cake, a surcharge of $250 applies
Additional guests for your Wedding are catered for with a cake size which is tailored to
the total number of guests attending your Wedding. Additional charges apply to cakes
which are larger than the total number of guests attending your Wedding.

Please note flowers may be sourced subject to availability. The following
are considered rare and additional charges would apply to have them
included in a bouquet or arrangement: Frangipani, Phalaenopsis Orchid,
Peony, Cymbidium Orchid, David Austin Rose, Calla Lily and Arum Lily.
Please also be aware that Frangipanis, when in season, are only available on
the island as they are delicate and difficult to transport without being
damaged.
Our Florist seeks your guidance in your preferred styles/variety of flowers
by presentation of any pictures of preferred bouquets and arrangements.
Coloured ribbon in both satin and organza is available.
The Ultimate and Pure Indulgence Wedding packages include a hand-held
posy of seasonal blooms, with a diameter of 20cm for the bride. A single
button-hole for the groom and signing table arrangement with a diameter
of 15cm are also included and created to match the bridal bouquet.
Additional charges apply for larger bouquets and bouquets which require
additional labour for wiring flowers.
If you are supplying your own flowers from another florist, a surcharge of
$250 applies.

videographer is available on the island and can be arranged to capture those magic moments and present
them on video or DVD with professional editing, titling and sound over. DVD master copies of the video

Whether a civil ceremony or religious service, Hayman will arrange for a Celebrant to travel to the resort
to officiate at your Wedding.
We can cater for Weddings any day of the year (excluding Christmas, Easter and New Year’s Eve and New
Year’s Day) and, with the advantage of our geographical location, any time of the year is suitable for
Weddings at Hayman.
You can elect to have a civil or religious ceremony. Below are your options:
Civil Celebrant
Civil Celebrants invite Wedding couples to personalise ceremonial readings and vows. Please discuss
Wedding vow content with your Celebrant. There are no additional costs involved in arranging a civil
Celebrant to officiate at Wedding ceremonies on Hayman. We can use a male or female Celebrant
depending on your preference. A profile on the Celebrants we use is available.
Religious Celebrant
Religious Celebrants representing the following faiths, may be arranged for your special day:
Anglican (Church of England)
Uniting Church (Methodist/Presbyterian)
Catholic
There are additional costs involved in arranging most religious representatives to officiate at Wedding
ceremonies on Hayman. These additional costs involve transfers (usually helicopter or seaplane) and
individual costs for conducting ceremonies outside of their usual Parish (Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Mackay,
Bowen or Proserpine).

Religious ceremonies use specific religious content and doctrines. Please discuss these options with your
priest or religious Celebrant.
Some religious Celebrants require that ceremonies be held in the Stella Maris Chapel.
Some religious Celebrants are unavailable on Sundays due to their own commitments to their local Parish.
Legal Information
In Australia you are required to lodge a ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form with your celebrant at least
one month and one day prior to the ceremony.
Australian guests must have their ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form witnessed by a Justice of the Peace.
Overseas people must have their ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form witnessed by an Australian Embassy
of Consular Official or a ‘Notary Public’.
The ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form is valid for 18 months.
Fax or send birth certificates/divorce absolute decree/passports ahead with your ‘Notice of Intention to
Marry’ form but also bring originals to be sighted.
If the marriage is required within the stipulated one month and one day, permission must be gained from
the Australian Federal Court to allow the Wedding to proceed. The Marriage Act is a Federal Act and
permission for special consideration may be lodged at a Registry Office or Court House. A fee of $25
applies.
The Australian Federal Court may waiver conditionality should the following circumstances apply:
Work or travel commitment does not permit for the marriage to take place outside
one month and one day
Attending guests are not able to travel within the legislative time frame
Wedding guests and/or Wedding parties undergo change in employment
Severe or terminal illness affecting Wedding guests and/or Wedding parties
All under age persons (18 years) must obtain Federal Court permission to marry, preferably along with
parental consent.
Divorced persons may lodge a ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ 31 days after their divorce is deemed
absolute. Divorce documentation must be provided to the Wedding celebrant upon application.
Some couples from European countries (mainly Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia)
who marry in Australia, are required to present an official Wedding document upon returning to their
home country. This information is then registered as legal documentation.

GENERAL
Hayman does not normally allow day guests to the island however, an
exception is made for Wedding guests. The return scheduled
transfers are from Shute Harbour and available at $120 per person
return.
If you would like to have the use of a hotel room for your day guests
this can be arranged from $350 per room
If you are providing your own professional Photographer, professional
Videographer, Florist or cake a surcharge applies.
Confetti or rice for throwing is not permitted at Hayman however we
can, instead arrange rose petals.

Recorded music is to be supplied by Wedding couples.
Music for your ceremony and reception can be provided by any of
our talented on island musicians including a guitarist, vocalist, duo and a
3-piece band. We can also source local bands. Hayman can also offer
state of the art sound systems and audio equipment.
VA L E T
Providing the best in pressing and dry cleaning services, our valet
service makes packing and carrying of Wedding attire less worrisome.
Unless the Wedding ceremony is on your arrival day (in which case
special arrangements can be made), the on-island pressing service takes
24 hours.
All prices listed are for payments by cash and valid from 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2010.
An additional 1% Credit Card Fee will be applied to the dollar amount paid by credit
card. Prices are quoted in Australian dollars and are inclusive of a 10% Goods and
Services Tax.
