Why I believe in the Y
For Healthy Living - Improving the nation's health and well-being
Sandy's
Success Story
I moved to NH a little over a year ago. My friend, Earle Wingate, suggested that I join
the Concord Family YMCA. A significant life event made me look at how I was living
and I decided to make some changes. When I joined the Concord Family Y I developed
a regular routine which has become part of my lifestyle. It didn’t take long and it
wasn’t as hard as I first thought it would be to get into an exercise routine.
The results have been fantastic. I was a size 16 when I joined the Concord Family Y
and I didn’t own a scale because I didn’t want to know what I weighed. My goal was
to become a size 10. One year later I have lost over 50 pounds and am now a size
6 – 8! I never thought I’d be this size. I’m so happy with my progress!
Maybe most importantly, I feel so much better about myself.
I feel good!
The people at the Y are so helpful, and the facility is great.
I usually use the elliptical machines, but there are the
stationary bikes, the rowing machines, the step workout
and treadmills, apart from the nautilus equipment and
weights. And there’s the pool, the classes and even individual
instructors if I want personalized exercise advice. It’s clean
and bright and there’s always something going on!
Thank you Concord Family Y!
Way to Go Sandy!
At the Y, we're here for you
every step of the way.

In the past I’d tried diets, but they never worked and I always gained the weight
back. This time, with the Concord Family Y, I watched what I ate and ate healthier.
I limited sweets and treats. Now I ask myself whether the extra calories are really
worth it. If not, I just don’t eat it.

We provide high quality, affordable early
child development enrichment programs
at the Concord Family YMCA Child
Development Center. Our nurturing
atmosphere stimulates learning,
celebrates individuality, promotes selfesteem and encourages social interactions
based upon respect and kindness.
Children engage in a framework called Creative Curriculum, an approach that focuses
on how children develop and learn, based
on their individual interests, the learning
environment, and the role of the teacher.
We know how important it is that children
participate in a safe, learning environment
when they are not at home. Each year
parents evaluate and provide feedback on
our child care services by completing a
Quality Survey.
Overall, we're happy to report that 95% of
our YMCA families rated the quality of our
service as Excellent or Very Good, and 98%
of our families rate our staff as Excellent
or Very Good. We think that's important
for you to know as you consider your child
care options. Your children are your greatest treasures and at the
Concord Family YMCA the well-being of
your child is our number one priority.
