WELCOME TO THE YMCA!
At the YMCA it is our mission to build strong kids, strong families and
strong communities through programs that develop spirit, mind and body for
all. As a non-profit focused on healthy living, social responsibility and youth
development, our goal is to provide a fun and safe learning environment for
you and your child. Join us this spring!
Spring I Session runs February 16-April 12, 2014
Member registration begins January 27, 2014
Non-member registration begins February 3, 2014.
Spring II Session runs April 13-June 7, 2014
Member registration begins January 27, 2014 except for Aquatics classes.
Member Spring II Aquatics class registration begins March 17.
Non-member registration begins March 31, 2014.

classes (for members) and events that may not be included in this guide. For
our most up-to-date program class schedule as well as downloadable group

Body Combat is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally
unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and
draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo,
tai chi and muay thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model
instructors, you strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories
to superior cardio fitness. Like all the LES MILLS? programs, a new
BODYCOMBAT? class is produced every three months with new music
and choreography.
Body Pump Ages 16+BODYPUMP? is the original barbell class that
strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your
major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats,
presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice
of weight inspire you to get the results you came for ? and fast! Like all
the LES MILLS? programs, a new BODYPUMP? class is released every three
months with new music and choreography.
Cardio Kick Boxing Ages 16+ Kick-boxing drills with boxing techniques are
involved in this incredible work-out for the entire body.
Hatha Yoga Ages 16+ This class is for every person and every body
type as well as an excellent compliment to any athletic training. Andrea will
take you through postures and breathing techniques and complete your
session with relaxation.
Hour Of Power Ages 16+: Valerie for an uplifting strength building session
of weight training.. All age groups can participate in this class.
Silver Sneakers Yoga Stretch will move your whole body through a
complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered
to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility,
balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final
relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Sunrise Beginner Cycle 16+This is a beginner Cycle Class.
Turbo Kick Turbo Kick is the hottest cardio kickboxing class around for
fitness training. Turbo Kick is a fusion of hip hop and kickboxing.
Ultimate Abs Ages 16+ this class will help train core muscles (abs and
back) to be strong and flexible; and improve stability and posture.
Yoga In Spanish : Ages 16 + This class is for students looking to increase
flexibility, strength and endurance. Postures will flow from one to the next
in conjunction with the breath. Assists and modification will be offered for
all levels of students.

Martial Arts Academy
Aikido : Ages 12+ BI: Students will learn self defense techniques against
attackers armed with a knife and empty handed. Improve physical
conditioning and gain confidence in self-defense maneuvers. Mentally and
physically learn how to relax under pressure.
Brazilian Jiu Jit Zu Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Bi: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial
art and self-defense system that concentrates on grappling and ground
fighting. BJJ stresses leverage and technique to control an opponent on the
ground. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a great workout and fun for the whole family.
Intro To Kung Fu : Ages 18+: Participants will learn aspects of four kung
fu systems including; Tai Chi, Shaolin, Hsing I and Praying Mantis. Some of
these ancient Chinese arts have a history of over 1000 years.
Tai Chi Tai chi BI: Ancient Chinese Meditation and Marital Art with a
Thousand year history. All ages welcome.
Youth Karate : Ages 4-12
• Functional components to improve lower back and joint strength
Y-MaxTraining System has a VERY high rate of success; especially
with individuals whose main goal is weight loss.

Child Care/Camp
School's Out Program: No school, no worries. The YMCA offer
on-site programming for school age children. Program hours,
7:00 am - 6:00 pm. Children need to be in by 9:00 am. Breakfast, lunch
and a snack are provided. Registration is open to ALL CPS Private school
children. Activities include, physical activities, crafts, sports and fields trip.
Spring Camp: April 14-18, 2014. Activities are on site at the YMCA. Meals
are included, field trips will be scheduled. Check website,
www.mccormicktribuneymca.org for more details.
Summer Camp: June 16, 2014 - August 22, 2014. Never too late to plan
for your child's summer. We will host 10 weeks of FUN. All sessions weeks,
include schedule swim time and field trips. Daily activities include weekly
theme based lessons which also include recreational and sports play. For
more information, please check out web site. Parent informational nights are
scheduled for March 26, 2014, April 23, 2014 and May 14, 2014, at
6:30 pm at the YMCA. Registration begins, March 17th.
School-Age/Headstart Program On site at the YMCA
(Ages 2-12) The McCormick Tribune YMCA is a licensed child-care provider
for working families who need after-school care for their children. The
services offered include an option of free 10-month, half-day Head Start or
a full-day Headstart which is year-round. Our rates are based on household
income. We do accept AFC certificates. Our School Age Program is yearround and provides transportation from designated schools. A Family
Membership is included for qualifying families with children enrolled in our
programs. Limited slots are available.
