Best known as Winnie McGoogan in Mrs
Browns Boys, Eilish O’Carroll comes into
her own with this reflective look on an
eventful life. If this doesn’t sound your cup
of tea you couldn’t be more wrong. There
is absolutely nothing downbeat about this
show. ‘Laugh out loud funny’ - Edinburgh
Evening News
Ultimate Eagles are more than just a tribute,
they are definitive devotees performing
songs from every album and every era,
delivering forty years of brilliance with both
accuracy and reverence. They don’t wear
funny wigs and costumes but concentrate
on delivering The Eagles’ music with
pin point accuracy.
When Henry Higgins, a phonetics professor,
meets Liza Doolittle, a cockney flower seller,
he embarks on a bet to take “a human
being and change her into a quite different
human being”. However the outcome of
the bet has far reaching, and unexpected,
consequences for all involved.

Finbar Furey tours extensively, bringing

with one of Ireland’s great raconteurs.
Three generations of women tell us their
story of one extraordinary year. Little
Gem, by Elaine Murphy, swept the boards
during its sell out run as part of the
2008 Dublin Fringe Festival and was also
the surprise hit of the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival that year.
After a very successful inaugural festival
in 2011 and their 2nd festival in 2013,
more than 250 young musicians from all
over the county will perform with their
own orchestra groups as well as joining

LE PRÉ AUX
CLERCS
Ferdinand Hérold (1791-1833)
Tickets: €25 - €145
Inspired by the African American songs
Delius heard as a young man working
on an orange plantation, Koanga is a
powerfully atmospheric opera about a
proud African prince, sold into slavery in
Louisiana, who falls in love with a mixedrace maid, with tragic consequences.
Jealousy is the green-eyed monster that
wreaks havoc in Mascagni’s blood-soaked
opera in which a young Scot, spurned by the
object of his affections, challenges anyone
who woos her to a duel. Enriched by the
kind of orchestral writing and full-blooded
melodies that made Cavalleria Rusticana
such a popular success, Guglielmo Ratcliff
is the work of a master in full flow.
Based on a novel by Prosper Mérimée,
Hérold’s opera comique was a runaway
success in the wake of its triumphant
premiere. Set during the French Wars of
Religion, Le Pré aux clercs is a touching
romance in which a young countess rebels
against the suitor chosen for her by the King
of France and hatches a daring plot to escape
with her lover to Navarre.
