Children’s Concert Series
Friday Mornings 10:30-11:15 a.m.
You and your child will love this entertaining concert
series! There will be a different children’s entertainer
each week at Clarkson Park to delight children and
adults. Pack a lunch and a blanket and spend an afternoon at the park.
June 26th – Jeanie B.
Kids will sing and dance to Jeanie B’s Rock-n-Roll
Show. This engaging entertainer is a favorite with kids
of all ages.
July 10th – Ken Schulz
July 17th – Dave Rudolf
This show is totally interactive with hula hooping,
bubble machines, the limbo, and more. The concert
features Dave’s original music as well as some “fun in
the sun” songs such as “Hot, Hot, Hot” and
“Sonora.”
July 24th – Istvan
and His Imaginary Band
When Istvan starts rocking kids can’t help but join in.
An irresistible mix of interactive rock ‘n’ roll, country,
pop punk and sing-alongs that get heads bobbing.
In person, Istvan brings those songs to life and always
tries to involve the crowd, whether it’s playing freeze
dance mid song, inviting them up to sing along or having them ring out the rhythm on a tambourine. When
it comes to the band there is nothing imaginary about
its possibilities. It’s not surprising why Istvan & His
Imaginary Band have become kid and family music
favorites.
*In case of inclement weather Children’s Concerts will move to the Community Center.
Fan favorite Ken Schulz brings his
“mini circus” back to
Northfield! This variety show is for all
ages and includes
juggling, comedy, acrobatics, fire eating, uni-cycling and lots of audience
participation.
“Dog Days” of Summer at Clarkson Park
Join the Northfield Park District and Loving Care Pet Services as we celebrate “National
Hot Dog Day” on Thursday, July 23rd. This family-friendly event has something for everyone. Bring your dog to Clarkson Park as Loving Care’s trainer, Carlos Almazo, trained
by the legendary Caesar Milan, demonstrates training tips with a fun training
tunnel, rings, and short course to run
through with your best four-legged
friends. Carlos understands how training
is an interactive, on-going pursuit. It should be fun and
rewarding for both you and your dog. There will be doggie treats and
water for the pets. Hofherr Meat Co. will be grilling up free hot dogs
for all to enjoy. This event is free and pre-registration is not required.
All dogs must be on a leash.

in this camp.
Campers have the option of choosing 5 days or 3 days

CIT/Day Camps
Counselor in Training (CIT)
In 2014 we revamped the Northfield Park District’s CIT
program so CITs will learn the ins and outs of what it
takes to be a great counselor! Our CIT Director will
train participants in several areas including: leadership, safety, curriculum development, and behavior
management, to name just a few! CITs will undergo
training on these topics the first day of their
session and then be
assigned to a camp for
hands-on experience
for the remainder of
their time at camp.
CITs will learn new
skills and will be given
a written evaluation at
the end of their camp
session. Not only will CITs have a great time working
with the kids, they will leave equipped with life skills
to help them in their future.
In order for CITs and campers to have the best experience possible, it is important that we have the appropriate amount of CITs at each camp, during each
camp week. Therefore, some weeks may fill up.

Registration Information
Program Registration
Confirmation Emails
Please be sure to sign up at least
seven days prior to the start of any
program. Registrants will be charged
the full program registration fee up to
the start of the third class. No proration will occur. After the third meeting of a class, no registrations for the
particular program will be accepted.
Last minute sign ups make it hard
for us to plan for the activities and
sometimes the program has to be canceled because of the lack of advanced
enrollment. After you register, the
registration office will send a confirmation of your classes or a notice that
you have been placed on a wait list.
The Northfield Park District reserves
the right to require proof of residency,
age or family relationship if a question
exists as to the factuality of the same.
As a courtesy, for most classes, the
Park District emails confirmations to
each registrant. If you do not receive a
confirmation, it is your responsibility
to contact the Park District prior to the
first class to verify your registration.
We’ll be happy to check for you. So
that we can quickly assist you, please
provide us with the program number
when you call.
Checks
A $20 charge will be assessed for
insufficient funds checks returned to
the Park District.
Credit Card Payments
If your charge card is declined or the
charge number is improperly presented, your registration form remains
unprocessed and is returned to you by
mail.
Criminal Background
Check
We want you to feel safe while using
the programs and facilities of the
Northfield Park District. Again this
year criminal background checks will
be completed for those employees
and volunteers in positions where
they may be alone in a one-to-one situation, who work alone with a group
of youths or older adults typically in
a classroom, on a practice field or on
a bus. The purpose of the background
check is to assist in the safeguarding
of everyone participating in activities
conducted by the Park District.
Refund Policy
1.In order to receive a refund contact the registrar.
2.A $10 service charge per program
will be charged if a Refund Request Form is submitted to the Park
District at least 5 days prior to the
starting date of program.
3.A $20 service charge per program
will be charged if a Refund Request Form is submitted to the Park
District less than 5 days before the
starting date of the program.
4.No refunds after second class
meeting except for medical
purposes or change in residence
(proof required) and there will be
a prorated refund based upon the
number of class meetings.
5.In the event that a Park District
class is cancelled due to lack
of enrollment or a time or date
change is made, a full refund will
be issued.
We do our best to issue refunds as
soon as possible, but sometimes delays are necessary to ensure accuracy.
Refunds by check take approximately
two weeks. A credit to your charge
card takes six to eight weeks to appear on your statement.

Definition of Residency
A resident is anyone living or working within the geographic boundaries
of the Northfield Park District. Those
boundaries are the same as those
for School District 29. In general,
they include addresses WEST of the

Non-Resident Rates
The Park Board has adopted a nonresident rate for most programs. A
Northfield Park District resident, via
property taxes, makes a significant financial contribution to the operation
of the park system, whether used or
not. The non-resident fee is intended
to apportion an equalizing fee to our
non-resident participants, so they do
contribute to the overall financing
of the park system on an equitable
basis with the resident.
Yes, you may live in Northfield, but if you’re not within the
boundaries, you’re not in the Northfield Park District.

non-competitive level and helping our children have fun while learning and growing with their peers.
