IOG MAGAZINE pdf - Italian Outdoor Group
Spirito Outdoor IOG Magazine n. 1/2012 Luca Pedrotti, IOG president IOG (Italian Outdoor Group) is an association that represents some of the the leading Italian companies in manufacturing, importation and distribution of clothing, footwear and equipment for outdoors and mountain sports. Editorial Our pure Outdoor Spirit Innovation, design, quality and social responsibility are the main features that characterize the Italian companies of our group. But there is another important value that marks most of our companies: a huge, pure OUTDOOR SPIRIT. Every day we live the market and the natural environment, many of our offices are near the mountains and we are the first testers of our products. In this first IOG MAGAZINE we are pleased to present companies that, combining tradition and innovation, build on their past and continue to introduce quality products on the international market, that in many case are designed and produced in Italy. Many of the Italian brands that we represent are owned by family-run businesses. Generation after generation they have been able to penetrate the market thanks to the quality of the products rooted from the manufacturing tradition of our country. Moreover, these companies have been able to propose and adopt innovative solutions, sometimes anticipating important trends. Through IOG MAGAZINE, our Italian companies present to the international market some key products of their future collection showing how Italian outdoor companies are always trend makers. Looking forward to meet you during OutDoor 2012 Luca Pedrotti www.italianoutdoorgroup.it 2 What about IOG Aims of the Italian Outdoor Group - IOG Promotes and sponsors several initiatives in collaboration with national and international organizations in order to increase the interest in outdoor activities of the Italian public. In particular IOG starts up projects and studies to improve technical, economic and cultural aspects of production and distribution of Italian products; to manage market research; to support members with training and insights and finally to promote events for the public and the trade. Objectives Italian Outdoor Group - IOG Study, promote and sustain initiatives to support the diffusion of the outdoors in Italy and that can produce positive effect for producers and distributors of outdoor products. Other aims include achieving economic advantages for its members through agreements with media and trade shows. Moreover IOG fosters collaboration among associates sharing data, experiences and synergies. Italian Outdoor Group promotes: • Growth of mountain sports • Analysis and initiatives to improve technical, cultural and economic aspects of Italian outdoor production and distribution • Analysis of markets and services used by members • Knowledge and increased distribution of products and outdoor brands • Collaboration with national and international organizations which have the same goals Some of activities 2012 Trento FilmFestival 2012 The “Spirito Outdoor - IOG” award A frame of “Vite tra i Vulcani”. Among the activities promoted by IOG in 2012, the collaboration with the Trento Film Festival has a special meaning. During the festival, the association has worked to promote outdoors to a qualified audience of 15.000 spectators and over 150 journalists from all over the world. The partnership also gave birth to a special award called “Spirito Outdoor - IOG”. The goal was to promote those films that embody the IOG spirit, intended as an easy way to experience outdoor activities, not necessarily tied to epic dimension of large alpine adventures or to extreme athletic movements. Therefore, the award has been assigned to the film that represents the authentic spirit of outdoors, and that expresses a soft, slow and pure approach. Outdoor means not only sport and performance, but also travel, contemplation, discovery in a natural environment where it is still possible to experience authentic and unforgettable emotions. The panel, made up prominent journalists and professionals, awarded “ Vite tra i Vulcani” by Mario Casella and Fulvio Mariani (Switzerland, 2012). The movie tells about a ski mountaineering expedition in Iran that becomes a unique trip to a rural Iran showing without rhetoric the influence that politics has on the life of Iranian people. The documentary tells with great simplicity, about a journey of discovery where the destination and the “sports activities” become an opportunity to live nature as a place to learn more about themselves and a culture different from their own. The leitmotiv is a sense of ease and happiness that comes from a genuine relationship with nature and openness to know without any prejudice others and what is around us. This year from the 2nd to the 5th of May the press camp was organized in Italy in collaboration with IOG. A group of about 10 journalists who write for non technical media coming from all over Europe (Germany, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, France, England), the CEO of the Friedrichshafen fair, the head of the OutDoor fair and the President of the European Outdoor Group were visiting Trentino to discover, through the activities planned by IOG, the meaning of outdoor in Italy. In addition to moments of discussion about the Italian outdoor market, Italian outdoor companies and future trends, journalists and guests of IOG were able to take part in a hiking in the mountains of the Lagorai and could participate in one of the main event of the Trento Film Festival. The press camp was an important opportunity to present to the international media the Italian outdoor, IOG and its members. S.P.A. T. +39.0341.80117 - contact@camp.it - www.camp.it The Tour Nanotech is the lightest steel crampons in the world! Sandvik Nanoflex Steel uses nanotechnology to create a superior metal that is 30% stronger and 20% harder than traditional chromoly steel thereby allowing us to use a thinner cross section (1.8mm) that results in a crampon that is not only lighter, but stronger, more durable and stainless by design. The thinner cross section also creates sharper, thinner points that penetrate hard snow with ease. The semiautomatic binding is compatible with most mountaineering boots. For telemark or A/T boots, use the Tour Nanotech Auto with automatic bindings (367). C.A.M.P. is a leading company in the design, production and distribution of climbing and mountaineering equipment.
