News Update Building essentials for a better tomorrow t e ew g vi era to v e s co r he w k ne c i Cl bc7 a he June 2013 WALTER WANG RECEIVES DEA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Walter Wang, Chairman and CEO of JM Eagle, the world’s largest manufacturer of plastic pipe, was named the 2013 recipient of the DEA Educational Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to further the organization’s mission. The award was presented at a gala event on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. Walter Wang has served as a board member and advocate of the DEA Educational Foundation for the last five years. Walter has helped promote the organization’s mission to prevent drug abuse by educating all Americans about the detriments of narcotics. Walter was a key sponsor in bringing the DEA Museum to the California Science Center. “This philanthropic endeavor is dear to my heart as I have become more and more aware that drug abuse is a pervasive problem in the fabric of America and the world today” The DEA Gala was attended by more than 500 people and thanks to generous donations from supporters the event raised close to one million dollars– the largest amount ever raised in the history of the organization. The money will be used to continue the fight against drug abuse in the United States and support the DEA Educational Foundation’s drug prevention and education programs. The event was featured on several news stations, including Los Angeles affiliate ABC7.
