Date: 29-30th January 2016 Noordwijk, The Netherlands Different aspects of the Damon System Dr. Dimitris Mavreas Lecture Abstract: The lecture will comprise of two parts. The first part intends to provide current information to the practitioner who desires to commence employing the Damon system in their practice. The benefits of low force use and wire sequence theory will be presented. The second part will provide the practitioner who is already familiar with the Damon system a detailed analysis of torque control with self-ligating brackets, the principles behind the employment of early elastics, and the concept of disarticulation. The seminar will include case presentations designed to illustrate Class II, Class III, open bite, and deep bite correction mechanics. The final goal is to take all level practitioners to the highest potential in their delivery of care with the Damon system. This lecture will be delivered in English. He is also affiliated to the Hellenic Craniofacial Center, Athens, Greece, treating craniofacial anomaly and cleft patients. He completed his orthodontic training at the Department of Orthodontics, Aarhus, Royal Dental College, Denmark, (Master of Science Degree), and also had postgraduate training in Occlusion and TMJ Management at the Department of Occlusion, Georgetown University School of Dentistry, Washington DC, USA. In addition he holds a PhD degree from the University of Athens, School of Dentistry, Greece. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Orthodontics in Aarhus, Denmark. He has published numerous articles in various orthodontic journals. He has been lecturing extensively on the Damon system and various other topics.
