Purchase a subscription package and enjoy a
full summer of live theatre!
Dear Friends,
It is with great excitement that we invite you to
join us for our 2013 season. This season – my
first here at the Playhouse – is packed full of
fun, entertainment and delight.
In the Springer Theatre, we kick off the season
with a bang with Suds – a musical that is sure
to get your feet tapping. From there, we soar
up, up and away with Boeing Boeing – a farce
complete with doors slamming, mistaken
identities and pratfalls. The 25th Annual
Putnam County Spelling Bee is sure to leave
you in stitches; No Great Mischief, a beautiful
adaptation of Alistair McLeod’s novel, is a
heartfelt story of a family’s history. Finally,
Salt-Water Moon is a Canadian classic for a
reason – it is funny, romantic and smart.
In the Firehall Theatre, I am thrilled to introduce
you to writer Jason Hall, and his funny and
surprising thriller Third Floor, and to share with
you Tomson Highway’s charming one-woman
musical The (Post) Mistress.
Please join us at the Playhouse in 2013 – it is sure
to be a summer of laughter, fun and surprise!
Yours,
Ashlie

STAGE
The 359-seat
Springer Theatre on
the waterfront is the
original Playhouse. This renovated venue, built
in 1909 as the Gananoque Canoe Club, features
two of the longest decks in the region from
which theatre guests have a panoramic view of
the St. Lawrence River and the islands.
The Springer Theatre lobby retains the vintage
cottage-style craftsmanship of the canoe club
– while the rest of the building has undergone
several renovations to create a modernized,
air-conditioned auditorium featuring a
proscenium-style stage.
