FAMILY NEWS Well the Hyde family is finishing up our time in Wyoming and will soon be heading back home. We’ve had a great time of relaxing and having fun with our family. We’re looking forward to being back home especially since it’s about 10 below zero here. Please pray for our safe travel and we look forward to seeing all of you this Sunday. Be Used by God This Saturday, the 15th we will have our annual coat give-away. This will be a great opportunity for us to show the love of Christ to our community. We will not only be sharing material possessions with those in need, but we will be offering an opportunity to share our faith with those who come to our building. If you’re not able to serve as a worker at the building, please be in prayer that God will give us opportunity to serve, love, and share our faith with the lost. God bless our efforts to His glory. What Refuels Us? Have you ever felt like you’re running on fumes. No matter how hard you try life seems to be passing you by and you just can’t keep up. This Sunday we will look at what kept the Apostles going in tough times and what empowered them to keep going. We try to refuel our hearts and minds with many things in this life. Sometimes fuels that harm us. What can we access in our Christian lives that will help encourage us and motivate us to keep up with the speed of life? “Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Romans 14:19 NIV Let’s join together this Lord’s day to discover what God’s word has to say about what drives us. Your brother, Jimmy Hyde 1929 Orlena Mae Williams 2014 Orlena Willaims was born May 14, 1929 and departed this life on October 14. She spent all of her life as a faithful child of God, and it was Central’s great privilege to have her among it members for the last year or so of her life. She was the aunt of Dennis and Carol Brodersen and the sister of Anita Hinson. While Orlena resided at Colonial Estates, Dennis and Carol saw to it that she was loaded up in her wheelchair and brought to the worship service every Sunday evening. That was the highlight of her week. Dennis will officiate at a memorial service on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock at Primrose Funeral Chapel in Norman. We extend our loving sympathy to all of Orlena’s family. We wish to express our heartfelt sympathies to Kylee and Nathan Kelly in the loss of Kylee’s grandfather. He passed away last Friday and service was conducted this past Monday. PRAYER CONCERNS Don Cross had an angiogram on Friday. The doctors have decided not to do anything at this time. “O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.” Psalm 118:29 THANK YOU NOTES William and Billie Horton would like to thank everyone for the cards, visits and phone calls. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. YOUTH NEWS By NATHAN KELLY Don’t forget about the planning meeting on Sunday. Sorry I had to move it back. December 7th is the AWTG in Chickasha. We will walk through the park and look at all the Christmas lights afterward. There’s not really a whole lot going on right now, but that could always change. First, thank you for all the thoughts and prayers with the passing of Kylee’s grandfather. We both appreciate it. Second, I’m stilling my little thought this week from his funeral. The point was made at the graveside service that in Psalms 23:4 David says that we walk “through the valley of the shadow of death.” It’s not a journey to death because death isn’t the end for us. We travel through death. It’s just another landmark in our journey, and it’s not something we should fear. CONTINUING PRAYER CONCERNS Bob Allen, Kyrian Anderson (8 year old friend of the Hyde's, diagnosed with Leukemia), Chad Beard, Bob Bivins, Carol Brodersen, Nancy Burlison, Betty Caldwell (sister of Linda Carpenter), Harold Carothers, Blake Carter ( great grandson of Sue Merritt), Sherri Collins, Norma Cowden, Thelma Divine, Babe Doyle, Norma Edgmon, Mary Jo Fleming, Fredith Hanifan, Louise Honaker, Mariella Jacobs, John Johnston, Jane Lynn, Patti Morgan (niece of Burl Vanlandingham), Thearlene Morris, Rachel O’Neal, Andy Peerson (brother to Royce Peerson), Sue Riedel, Katie Carter Rose (niece of Denise Beard), Naomi Rutledge, Rhetta Smith, Sarah Smith, Dorothy Strickland, John Sullivan, Emma White, Iva Williams (mother of Cathy Rose) and Selene Williams (daughter of Craig & Michelle McKnight). All these members and friends have continuing health concerns or other special circumstances. They appreciate your interest and prayers.
