• Currier Museum of Art, Manchester
The beach at Mile-Away Campground taken by
Photo Contest Participant Candice Spaulding.
• Capitol Center for the Arts, Concord
The South Central Region is home
to the vibrant cities of Concord,
Manchester and Nashua. Campgrounds
are nestled along scenic byways, yet
just a short distance from museums,
fine dining, theater, attractions
and shopping.
• The Craft Center, League of NH Headquarters,
Concord
The region offers something for everyone. The capital city of
Concord has just completed a major downtown revitalization
which enhances the historic setting and provides the perfect spot
for all kinds of activities, outdoor dining, cultural events and a
friendly atmosphere for shopping local. Manchester and Nashua
boast similar vibrant downtowns, offering many cultural activities,
fine dining and plenty of shops providing locally sourced goods.
Enjoy history and art at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester,
or take a step back and explore the Museum of NH History in
Concord. Performing arts come alive at Manchester’s Palace
Theater, Concord’s Capitol Center for the Arts and the Dana Center
for the Humanities at St. Anselm College.
Families enjoy Canobie Lake Park in Salem, the McAuliffe-Shepard
Discovery Center in Concord, and Manchester’s SEE Science
Museum and Aviation Museum of NH. Enjoy shopping at the
Merrimack Premium Outlets, as well as malls and specialty shops
throughout the region. Delight in scenic drives throughout quaint
New England towns, and enjoy “Rail Trails” in Goffstown and
hiking at Mt. Uncanoonuc also in Goffstown.

This camping and
hunting season, get
your firewood from
a vendor close to
your destination.
Don’t pack your own!
Invasive insects and
diseases in dead and dying wood threaten our native
trees and forests. If you move firewood, you could be
giving these pests a free ride to new territory.
Every camper, cabin owner, and recreationist should
leave their firewood at home and obtain it near their
destination… that could make a long-term difference
in the health of our forests and the quality of our
recreational experiences.
