The tunnel has 3 mystic blue “caves”. Take a left in the roundabout at the end ot the tunnel and continue to Lærdal and visit the old village centre “Lærdalsoyri” and the Norwegian wild Salmon Center. Continue towards the Aurlandsfjellet (brown signs) and enjoy the winding road that takes you around every curve to a higher level in this beautiful mountain scenery. The road is also known as Snøvegen (snow road) and that this road opens the 1 of june and closes in late autumn when the snow clogs the road. Take it easy on top off the mountain plateau, there is lots to see….look for the bear, he is hidden in the mountain…. Continue over the mountain plateau, eventually the road goes down, be careful! It is a steep and winding road. Don’t forget to stop at the viewing point STEGASTEIN. You can not miss it. (It is located 650 meters above sea level, pointing 30m out in the air and has a height of 13 m). At the bottom of the road, by the fjord you reach the village Aurland which is the center of our community. The road with its several hairpins leads you to the famous look out “Stegastein”.
