The College has identified four strategic goals to support this vision: Accessibility - To enable all members of the tri-county community to pursue or continue higher education. Main Campus Stewardship - To become a model of fiscal, community and environmental responsibility, promoting these concepts at every level of the institution. Community Prominence - To increase the College’s prominence in the region as a provider of educational services and a promoter of economic development. Engagement - To build a community of learners in which all students, faculty, staff and administrators are active participants in and adherents to the principles of lifelong learning. TTC serves approximately 12,000 students on three campuses located in North Charleston, downtown Charleston and Moncks Corner. More than 90 percent of the College’s students are permanent residents of Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Most are balancing their pursuit of higher education with family and job responsibilities. The Foundation operates independently of the College as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The Board of Trustees is comprised of individuals from the tri-county area who are corporate, industry, civic and philanthropic leaders. They carry out the aims and purposes of the Foundation and set policies governing its affairs, assets and property. Ringwald Memorial Culinary Garden The Patrick E. Ringwald Foundation and the Trident Technical College Foundation have worked together to secure more than $140,000 to develop a culinary garden at the College’s Culinary Institute of Charleston to honor Patrick Ringwald. This garden has become a focal point of the campus and will provide a unique opportunity for the College’s culinary students to develop hands-on experience in selecting, growing and harvesting herbs and produce. Sheila Wertimer, noted landscape architect, designed the memorial garden on Main Campus. 8 Culinary Institute of Charleston The Annual Vintners Dinner and Wine Expo, hosted by Southern Wine & Spirits of South Carolina and the TTC Foundation, is the Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The first night, students of the Culinary Institute of Charleston prepare and serve a four-course dinner with wine pairings to 550 guests. One thousand guests join us in the College Center for a wine tasting and food extravaganza on the second day of our event. Every year, more than 1,500 wine enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs look forward to these two events. Funds raised by the Foundation provide scholarships and other forms of financial assistance to students as well as professional development, classroom equipment, and resources for instructors. 9 TTC Foundation Donors Between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2006, the Foundation received $623,996 from 1,138 individuals and organizations. Donors who wished to have their names in the annual report are listed first by contribution level and then by contribution designation. In-kind donors and 2006 Campus Campaign donors (TTC employees) are not listed under contribution levels. Every effort has been made to list correctly each contributor during fiscal year 2005-2006 (July 1 – June 30).
