Blue Mountain OHV Trails (Unity, OR) (541-523-1405 ) Located in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, this area consists of one main OHV trail that is about 50 miles long with several short side loops. Most sections of the trail system is fairly smooth and hard packed with several bridge crossings. Permit Required? Yes Other Vehicles? Motorcycles Climate Type Forest UTV/SXS? All of the area's OHV trails are designed and designated for vehicles less than or equal to 50 inches wide. OHVs wider than 50 inches are prohibited. Blue Ridge Trails (Coos Bay, OR) (541-756-0100 ) These trails are mostly single track and are marked, rated and frequently maintained. They are multi-use trails with thick forest vegetation, slippery tree roots, mud puddles, logs, and occasional road crossings. Permit Required? Climate Type Miles Long Dates Open Entry Fee? Prohibited Prohibited The heavily forested area gets muddy quickly and dries out slowly, so it is recommended to wait a few extra days after a hard rain. It is easy to access the staging area which has a small gravel parking lot but no services. Browns Camp OHV Area (Forest Grove, OR) (503-359-7401 ) The area provides many types of fun trails, secluded campsites right on the banks of the creek and plenty of shade. The creek that flows through the campground is shallow and sometimes a little muddy/cloudy, and although the sharp rocks don't make it very suitable for swimming, it's deep enough do a little wading to cool off. Some areas Most of the trails here are looped, and are marked and rated for difficulty, but bring a GPS/Radio unit anyway. There are a number of runs that are twisty and narrow, and most would also be plenty wide enough for ATVs. The trails also seemed split when necessary to offer an easy way around the deep rutted or technical spots. Cline Buttes Recreation Area (Redmond, OR) (541-383-4010 ) Located in the high desert of central Oregon, this area offers about 1,200 acres of motorized trails. Vegetation is sparse but consists of mixed juniper and pine trees and scattered scrub brush. The staging area offers plenty of flat parking a primitive camping is permitted... Permit Required? The area is open year-round but the best time to visit is during the spring and fall months Crane Mountain OHV (Lakeview, OR) (541-947-2151 ) Fire roads and logging trails make up most of this area. There are not as many trails as you might expect, because many are dead ends or are blocked by snow well into the summer. The peak is a popular hang gliding spot and the nearby town of Lakeview is tourist friendly. Crooked Finger OHV Trails (Scotts Mills, OR) (503-873-7432) Fire this property has about 12 miles of ATV trails on 600 acres. Most of the trails are rated as moderately challenging but there are some flat gravel roads for beginners to explore. Permit Required? Yes Climate Type Forest Other Vehicles? UTV/SXS? Diamond Mill OHV Area (Tillamook, OR) (503-842-2545) Diamond Mill OHV Camping Area is located 1.5 miles off the Wilson River Highway at milepost 22.8. It is a large, semi-primitive campground of dispersed sites furnished with a picnic table and fire grate. Vault toilets and garbage service are also available. Permit Required? Yes Other Vehicles? Motorized trails are marked and rated on trail maps and kiosks, but not necessarily on the trails themselves, and regions of the area close with changing fire, logging, and ecological conditions, so pay attention. East Fort Rock OHV Trail System (Millican, OR) (541-383-4010) This huge area offers over 300 miles of marked trails. The area is well maintained and is a good place to take the family or a beginner because it mainly consists of long and easy, looped trails. Some areas Prohibited There are multiple staging areas along with four play areas to check out Edison Butte OHV Trail System (Bend, OR) (541-383-4010) This area offers miles of two way traffic trails that wind through a dense ponderosa pine and hemlock forest. Some areas The trail system is open to OHV use April 1 through November 30 but the best time to visit is June through October.Camping and parking space for large RVs or trailers can be found at the Edison SnoPark parking lot Elderberry Flats (Medford, OR) (541-618-2200) A local’s favorite, this area offers miles of rugged OHV trails that range from rutted 4x4 roads to smooth and windy wooded single-track. There are several unsigned staging areas off of the main road but the most popular place to park and camp is Elderberry Campground. The campground borders the West Fork Evans Creek and offers 11 sites, each with a picnic table, BBQ ring and a garbage can... Permit Required? Yes Other Vehicles? Climate Type Forest UTV/SXS? Motorcycles The campground also has some pleasant swimming holes but riding is not permitted in the creek. The trails are open daily except during fire season but the campground closes during the winter months. Green Mountain OHV Trail (Prineville, OR) (541-416-6500) The Green Mountain trail lies Northeast of Prineville in the Ochoco National Forest. The 8.5-mile trail winds along open ridge tops, which offer spectacular views, and passes through beautiful old growth ponderosa pine stands. Permit Required? Prohibited Prohibited This trail offers a wide range of scenic views and riding experiences. In the spring, there is a beautiful array of wildflowers. The elevation ranges from 4500-5400 feet. The trail is open year round unless closed from snow, high fire danger or wet soil conditions. Henderson Flats OHV Trail System (Madras, OR) (541-383-4010) Located in the Crooked River National Grassland, this area consists of around 18 miles of marked and rated trails, a separate play area and a beginner’s loop. Hood River County OHV Trails (Hood River, OR) (541-387-6888) The Hood River County OHV Trail system area offers around 64 miles of marked and rated trails and several staging areas. The staging areas are day use only however primitive camping can be found at nearby Kingsley Reservoir. Free trail maps are available at each of the kiosks... Permit Required? Huckleberry Flats OHV Trails (Oakridge, OR) (541-782-2283) This motorized-only trail system consists of 65 miles of Class I and III trails and some Class IV trails of various degrees of difficulty. Prohibited Prohibited Set in a second-growth stand of Douglas fir with a dense understory of rhododendron and vine maple, you'll find trails ranging from old roads and skid roads to tight woods trails. John's Peak OHV Area (Jacksonville, OR) (541-618-2200) This system of trails offers over 16,000 acres of motorcycle loops of varying degrees of difficulty. Keep your eye out for hidden log cabins, abandoned mines, old lumbermills, deer, coyote, bears, and cougars. Be sure to thank the Motorcycle Riders Association for maintaining and adding new trails Jordan Creek (Tillamook, OR) (503-842-2545) Best for more experienced riders, this trail system offers some narrow, steep and technical trails with sharp cutbacks. The first part of trail leading from the campground is very easy, but the trails get more technical soon thereafter. Bring your 'A' game. Klamath Sportman's Park (Keno, OR) (541-884-8688) This park offers an occasionally groomed but fairly dry MX track with sharp lips, big doubles, and long table tops. What sets this area apart is the 4x4 obstacle course in the woods which includes a wall-towall tire section, a pair of see-saws, and a long rock pile. The park also offers archery and pistol ranges, a rifle range, sporting clays, model aircraft runway, and a 4x4 drag strip. Permit Required? Climate Type Yes Forest Other Vehicles? UTV/SXS? Motorcycles The camping area across the street has a few more trails, and some swimming, fishing, and water skiing opportunities. This is a small park, with just the motocross track, and handful of short trails, but tackling the obstacle course in the cool evening shade made us smile, and kept us amused for at least an hour. LaDee Flats OHV Area (Estacada, OR) (503-630-6861) Located about one hour southeast of Portland, Oregon, this new OHV area opened to the public in 2011 and has about 35 miles of deep woods trails. Motorcycles Terrain consists mostly of hard pack with some rocky sections and some deep mud holes for jeeps. More new trails are being designed and constructed. McCubbins Gulch OHV Area (Maupin, OR) (541-467-2291) Located just southeast of Mt. Hood, this area offers about 40 miles of narrow and twisty single track and ATV trails. Vegetation mostly consists of a pine and conifer forest. Trails are mostly smooth and fast with some sections of lava rock... Permit Required? Yes Climate Type Forest Other Vehicles? UTV/SXS? Please note that this area is located near the Warm Springs Indian Reservation and a permit is required to access tribal lands. Mcgrew Trail (O'Brien, OR) (541-592-4000) There is a nice staging and camping area next to the stream on the left near the main entrance at N42.01.615 W 123.46.079. You can stage here or drive in further. Follow the main road up the mountain, past the gravel pit, and bear right at the fork (go through the yellow gate) and look for a large unmarked open area on the right. This is the actual trailhead. Some areas This is a remote area that mainly consists of gravel roads and jeep trails. The climbs are gradual (not too steep) but some sections of the trail are pretty rocky. Millican Plateau OHV Trail System (Millican, OR) (541-383-4010) Milican ODOT Pit is open year round and has gravel mounds and a beginners loop sections that is fenced off. Trucks and other 4WDs are not permitted in the pit area and the area gets pretty dry and dusty during the summer. Permit Required? Climate Type Yes Desert Other Vehicles? UTV/SXS? Some areas Prohibited South Millican is located on an ancient lakebed and terrain is mainly flat with some rolling hills. The trails are sandy but are well marked and is seasonally open August 1 through November 30. Mt. Fanny OHV Trails (La Grande, OR) (541-963-7186) This part of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest offers about 16 miles of narrow trails. This trail system has no designated staging area but is accessible by adjacent forest service roads. Permit Required? Climate Type Yes Forest Other Vehicles? Motorcycles UTV/SXS? The trail system can be reached by traveling about 5 miles north of the campground on Forest Service Road 6220. The trails and campground are usually snowed in until mid June so be sure to call the ranger station at(541) 963-7186 before heading out.. Nicolai Mountain OHV Area (Clatskanie, OR) (503-325-5451) This brand new OHV area recently opened to the public in June 2010. The area offers over 17 miles of trails that are open to quads, UTVs and dirt bikes. The is no fee to ride or camp but there are no other services except for a vault toilet so come prepared. Noonday Trail (Cottage Grove, OR) (541-942-5591) The Noonday Trail was originally constructed in 1896 as a wagon road for hauling supplies and equipment into the Bohemia Mining District. This wagon road once extended from Disston to Grizzly Mountain although newer roads have since replaced and crossed portions of the original route. Permit Required? Yes Other Vehicles? An old mining area presents unique hazards to the hiker and explorer Prairie Peak (Triangle lake, OR) (541-683-6600) This system of jeep trails and dirt roads that wind their way up to a broadcast tower at the peak make for some easy riding and great scenic views. There are very few actual OHV trails in this area and the roads are not well marked. Hult reservoir sits at the base of the mountain. Permit Required? Climate Type Yes Forest Other Vehicles? Prospect OHV Trail System (Prospect, OR) (541-560-3400) When it comes to woods riding, this will always be among our top ten favorites. The deer and wildlife that can be seen up close, the beautiful Rogue River, the natural swimming and fishing holes, friendly people and cooler temperatures will make anyone want to shop for real estate in southern Oregon., Permit Required? Speaking of trails, don't miss this one - 'The Maze'. It's a fast smooth and narrow twisty that winds through the trees near the staging area. With lots of ups and downs and berms in every corner,. Radar Hill OHV Area (Burns, OR) (541-573-4400) This high desert OHV area has around 22 miles of marked, rated and looped trails. This area is open year-round but the best time to visit is during the spring and fall months since the trails can get very dry and dusty. Permit Required? Yes Other Vehicles? Rock Creek OHV Area (Tygh Valley, OR) (541-483-2324) Located just southeast of Mt. Hood, this brand new OHV area has about 50 miles of marked trails. There are two staging areas and primitive camping is permitted. Post Camp Campground has direct trail access and can accommodate vehicles up to 16 feet. Nearby Pine Hollow Lakeside Resort</a> offers full RV hookups, a boat dock and swimming beach. Permit Required? Roseland Recreation Site (La Pine, OR) (541-383-4000) This local’s favorite offers about 3.5 miles of marked and easy loop trails plus two play areas, one for novices and one for advanced riders. Santiam Pass OHV Area (Cascade, OR) (541-822-3381) 53 miles of Easiest to most difficult trails and shared use roads in the High Cascades open to OHV Classes I, II, III and IV ATVs. Shotgun OHV Area (Marcola, OR) (541-683-6600) This large area offers about24 miles of marked and rated trails. Most of the trails are signed for two-way traffic except for the trails marked as most difficult. South Valley Resource Area (Cottage Grove, OR) (541-683-6600) The trails found here are not much of a challenge, and many are dead ends. Most consist of overgrown logging roads, but if you look hard, you can find a real trail or two. Trask OHV Area (Tillamook, OR) (503-842-2545) This area offers a few small play areas and a couple of gravel pits, but consists mainly of logging roads with some steep unmarked side trails. Prohibited With just a handful of camping areas (near the fish hatchery), the creek remains largely undisturbed, and the water is clear, but fairly low in the summer. This is a real remote area and can be described as somewhat untamed. Upper Nestucca Motorcycle Trail System (Willamina, OR) (503-815-1100) This large trail system has three staging areas. Maps are available at each staging area in a tube on the sign posts. OHVs are permitted on the connecting roadway (Bald Mountain Road) and you can ride from one staging area to another. Virtue Flat OHV Area (Baker City, OR) (541-523-1256) This popular OHV (off-highway vehicle) area offers a variety of challenges for the basic to advanced OHV enthusiast. Trails and routes are available year-round for all classes of OHV's including motorcycles, four-wheel drives, and quads. Winchester Trails (Coos Bay, OR) (541-396-7750) This trail system was once a real gem but some have told us that it is now somewhat in need of repair. The trails are mostly soft damp single track surrounded by thick vegetation but lack of funding may have caused some of them to deteriorate and you will likely encounter deep ruts, washouts and windfall. Winom Frazier OHV Complex (Ukiah, OR) (541-427 3231) This popular area offers over 140 miles of nicely maintained trails through deep and scenic mixed pine tree forest.
