Civil Ceremonies
At the Theatre of Dreams, we appreciate that each couple want their day to be unique
and one they will cherish forever. Our magnificent stadium is the ideal place to hold your
ceremony and we offer a wide variety of suites in which to do so.
The beauty of a civil ceremony is that it can be tailored to your individual requirements,
meaning it can include readings and music of your choice. Our experienced staff will be
on hand and delighted to ensure that your ceremony goes exactly as you wish.
To arrange your ceremony, first you will need to decide upon a date then contact the
Superintendent Registrar of the district of the approved premises, of which the Theatre
of Dreams is one. Then you can contact us to discuss your dates and make a provisional
booking.
Once everything is in place we will help you plan your ceremony, to create a ceremony
individual to you. We will guide and support you as you make all the big decisions and
will do everything we can to make your day a very special one.

The Wedding Suites
The Theatre of Dreams offers a fabulous array of banqueting suites, many of which are
licensed for civil ceremonies and can accommodate various sized wedding parties; from
a small, intimate affair for 40 guests to a larger reception for up to 900 guests.
Manchester Suite
The Manchester Suite is the ideal room in which to hold a large wedding reception, as it
is suitable for parties of up to 900 people. The suite has its own lower level which is
perfect for your guests to enjoy their welcome drinks and there is access to the main
suite via two staircases. It has its own private reception area with cloakrooms and
five bars are contained within the suite.
Evolution Suite
The Evolution Suite is one of a kind here at Manchester United as it is the only suite
which offers views of both the Quays and the famous Old Trafford pitch. Located within
one of the newest areas of the stadium, this suite would make an excellent setting for a
wedding. It can hold up to 250 people and has a lower level which is a superb location
for your guests to enjoy a drinks reception.
Trafford and Stretford Suites
Both the Trafford Suite and Stretford Suite offer you and your guests’ fantastic views of
the pitch. The Trafford Suite can cater for parties of up to 180 guests and the Stretford
Suite, up to 100 guests. Both of the suites have bars contained within them and have
purpose built dance floors for your evening festivities.
Salford Suites 1 & 2
Salford Suites 1 & 2 can accommodate 240 guests and 150 guests respectively. Both
suites have bars and purpose built dance floors where your guests can dance the night
away. The Salford Suites can be used individually or together to accommodate larger
weddings.

Our Wedding Breakfast and Wedding Reception menus include an array of
mouth watering dishes, prepared to the highest standard by our award winning chefs.
We offer flexible menu options, so if you’re looking for cuisine with a difference on your
special day, we’ll happily cater for your individual needs or offer you the opportunity to
manage the catering yourself.
Extras, including cheese & biscuits platters, can be added at an additional cost to any

Wedding Etiquette
The Top Table
The top table arrangement facing your guests should normally read from left to right:
Chief Bridesmaid, Groom’s Father, Bride’s Mother, Groom, Bride, Bride’s Father, Groom’s
Mother, Best Man.
The Receiving Line
The receiving line is a courteous, practical and a great way to ensure you see everyone.
Normally, when the Bride’s parents have sent out invitations, they can be regarded as the
host and hostess and should be first in line to receive the guests.
Grace
The toastmaster may say grace if required after escorting the Bride and Groom to their
places at the top table. The toastmaster will introduce someone selected by the Bride
and Groom to say grace if required. Sometimes grace is not said.
The First Toast
The first toast is the duty and privilege of the Bride’s father, but where this cannot be the
case a close relative or family friend may give this very special toast.
The Bride and Bridegroom
The Bridegroom responds to this toast on behalf of himself and his Bride. It is also the
Bridegroom’s duty to make the second toast.
The Bridesmaids
The Best Man, on behalf of the Bridesmaids, responds to this toast. It is his duty to read
out selected messages of congratulations. It is not traditional for the Best Man to repeat
the toast to the Bride and Groom.
