Over the last few years Middleton lodge has become
one of the country’s most unique settings for private weddings.
Our ethos is simple;
whatever the reason or for however long you are staying, our aim is
to make our home your home from the moment you arrive.
Set in 250 acres of private parkland overlooking the rolling Yorkshire
countryside, Middleton Lodge has created the perfect setting for a
traditional country wedding party - with a slightly modern twist.
With its sumptuous mix of contemporary and classic décor, magnificent architecture and
breathtaking panoramic views, it’s hard not to relax and absorb the elegance of your
surroundings. The seamless mix of classic and contemporary design is continued
throughout its seventeen individually furnished bedrooms.

Exclusive hire lets you and your guests relax and treat the Lodge as your own country
mansion for the duration of your stay. There are four reception rooms, a spacious dining
room, Snooker room, the ‘Gun Room Bar’, late night Cellar Bar and private cinema.
Upstairs there are seventeen en-suite bedrooms that have been
individually designed to give all of your guests a totally unique experience.
Every room has its own captivating view of our private grounds. Our croquet Lawn and terrace
has views across the Vale of Mowbray towards the North Yorkshire Moors, providing
the perfect backdrop to your wedding.

We specialise in exclusive weekend and intimate mid-week weddings and our packages are
designed to be a flexible guide rather than set in stone. We can tailor most things to your
requirements and recommend that you hire the Lodge over two nights, that way you really
do get to experience the Lodge at its best and make it your own.
If you arrive the day before your big day you can spend more precious time relaxing
with family and friends, unwinding and familiarising yourself with the house and grounds.
We can arrange drinks and dinner for you and your guests as required and take pride in
tailoring your stay individually to your needs. The following morning you’ll enjoy a relaxed
breakfast in preparation for the big day ahead.

If you do not wish to have a traditional church wedding we hold Civil Ceremonies
using three different locations, including Yorkshires only licensed outdoor
space on the lawn under our pavilion.
Wedding breakfasts for more intimate receptions are held in the Dining Room in the house.
Larger receptions are held in our permanent marquee, which has ample room for live music
and dancing. The marquee bar is open throughout the evening until midnight before venturing
down to the cellar bar. Next day the bride and groom, along with closest friends and
family can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and swap stories before departing.

No matter what time of the year the Lodge is always in season. Whether you are a planning
a small summer mid-week gathering or a large white winter weekend our unique setting
creates the perfect backdrop whatever your theme.
spring, summer, autumn or winter...
From early spring the grounds start to flourish with colour and the air starts to warm. Pre-Wedding
night BBQ’s on the terrace, drinks receptions on the lawns and making the most of the outside
space is a must. Our private parkland with striking vistas creates the perfect backdrop for photos,
whilst your guests can enjoy the English countryside to its full.
The Lodge can be a truly magical place in the autumn winter months with huge roaring log fires
in the house, traditional Christmas decorations, mulled wine & winter Pimms. Our fully heated
marquee creates a stunning venue for any Christmas wedding with its star cloth backdrop,
candles and Christmas trees. We even have an awning connecting the marquee to the Drawing
Room, so none of your guests have to venture outside.
Catering & Beverages
We use local & seasonal produce, from our farm wherever possible. All of our menus
and prices are available on our website including all current wine lists, which have
been chosen to complement your food selection.
We are happy to discuss your personal requirements and will assist you in tailoring
your menus and beverages to suit your individual requirements. We take great
pride in each wedding at the lodge being individual and our experienced team
will help you plan your perfect day in your own style.
Child Friendly Facilities
Children are always welcome here at the Lodge. We have indoor
and outdoor games to keep them amused and will gladly
make up additional beds and cots for smaller children.
Flexibility & Privacy
Whatever is on your agenda, we will provide you and
your guests support and assistance when required,
with total flexibility and above all complete privacy
throughout your stay.
The Cellar Bar
Our renovated cellar offers a great surprise to your guests and
something totally unexpected. We’ve created a unique space
we like to think it will be North Yorkshires’ best kept secret.
‘The Cellar’ has two separate rooms both with stunning vaulted
brick work walls and ceilings, moody low level industrial
lighting, original mine lamps and a mix of sumptuous leather
sofas, banquettes and booth seating for comfort. The bar
leads on to the cinema room; a multi-functional
Cinema/private club area.
The cellar bar can be hired specifically as
a late night bar from 11pm-2am.
