Feel the power of the Big Island of Hawaii on
August 20, 2016 while running on one of the
world’s most active volcanoes, Kilauea.
The Volcano Rain Forest Runs are held at cool elevation of 4,000
feet in the quaint village of Volcano just outside of Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park. There are three runs - half marathon, 10K and 5K.
All courses traverse the village roads in the lush native rain forest
while the half marathon continues into the majestic ranchlands with
stunning views of the14,000 foot volcanoes, Mauna Loa and Mauna
Kea. All pure inspiration for the soul. The events are open to runners
and walkers of all ages and abilities, participating for health, enjoyment
and excitement. Start/Finish is at Cooper Center on Wright Road in
Volcano Village.

Volcano Village is located 30 miles from the Hilo Airport and 104 miles
from the Kona Airport. There are many B&B’s to choose from in the
Volcano area. Check out our website for more details.
The Big Island is called the Big Island for many reasons, but mainly its
size. All the other Hawaiian islands easily would fit on the Big Island
with room for more.
