respect the cultural heritage and environment of the project location.
Directors Henry T.Y. Kwok, A.I.A. and Robert Yoneoka, A.I.A. established KY International, Inc.
in 1992 to provide architectural design services to local, national and international clients. With
this vision and based on the power of their founding philosophy, they have built a foundation of
diverse professional services ranging from full-service domestic projects to large-scale international
design work, and have expanded the firm,s architectural services to encompass master planning,
feasibility analysis, programming, architectural design, construction documentation and construction
administration. The partners continue to actively guide all aspects of the firm, with one of them
scheduling and tracking each project, regardless of size, to ensure that it will progress efficiently and
effectively from inception to completion. Since its beginning, the firm has continually championed
its corporate philosophy by striving toward inspired solutions focused on clients, end-users, cost,
culture and environment.
Based in Honolulu, Hawaii, the firm has capitalized on its strategic location by providing exceptional
architectural services to many regions of the Pacific Rim. Through past work in Malaysia, Indonesia,
Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Saipan, Korea, Australia, Tahiti, Fiji, Micronesia, Guam
and of course Hawaii, the partners have honed their design expertise as well as nurtured a cultural
sensitivity rooted in extensive travel and personal experience. Based on their unique credentials
and wealth of knowledge, KY International Inc. has steadily developed a comprehensive project
portfolio of successful resort and hotel designs, commercial mixed-use developments, senior living
facilities, custom single family and large scale residential complexes and shopping malls located
in such regions as China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Micronesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Hawaii. As
an international cross-road, Hawaii has been the perfect environment for KY International, Inc. to
develop a mature understanding of many cultures, and provide unparalleled architectural services
to the varied countries of the Pacific Rim.
The true strength of the corporate philosophy, however, resides in the individuals of the company,
beginning with the founding partners. Prior to the establishment of KY International, Inc., Henry Kwok,
A.I.A. directed many successful resort developments throughout Southeast Asia as a design principal
with WATG and Robert Yoneoka, A.I.A. had already established himself as a leading designer of
resorts, mixed-use commercial centers, golf clubhouses and shopping centers in Hawaii, Southeast
Asia and Asia. Working with Henry and Robert, and further fostering the corporate philosophy,
is an experienced staff of designers, architects and managers who are committed to architectural
excellence. Through a synergy of talented design professionals and a strong management style, KY
International, Inc. has seamlessly integrated this philosophy into the daily operations of the firm, and

developments. In association with world-renowned planning firms, all landuse, urban and infrastructure planning are designed with a comprehensive
knowledge of the past, present and future demographics of the area. The

KYI,s project portfolio ranges from planning a mixed-use development on

A.I.A. and Robert Yoneoka, A.I.A. have established an expertise in resort
planning and architecture. From chic urban high-rise hotels to secluded

Inspired by the Legendary Palace of Tirta Gangga in Karangesem, this unique
Water Palace concept presents four-storey “low-rise villages” on islands surrounded by lakes and Sand Banks. The 750-room resort is spread out on 40
lush acres of serene lily ponds, waterfalls, rivers and carp filled lagoons.

Themed as “The Grand Palace”, the Marriott Putrajaya Hotel & Commercial
Centre stands majestically over soothing water features and lush tropical

Meeting the demands of an ever growing health and wellness market, KY
International has positioned itself to be a leader in spa and spa resort design.
With the recent completion of highly successful luxury spa developments in
Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand, KY International remains on the cutting
edge of design and technology, integrating the spiritual essence of health and
wellness, the physical requirements of the site and operations and the cultural
sensitivity to the local people and environment. KY International,s spa designs
range in size from 12,000 to 33,000 square feet and vary in complexity
by combining such amenities as luxury villa and suite accommodations, as
well as commercial and retail components. Such unique design elements as

The spa design expands upon an existing hotel
with the addition of a 23,000 sf full-service,
comprehensive health and wellness spa, a 32-room
spa suite wing and 72 serviced apartments. A series
of outdoor gardens and lagoons located throughout
the complex formed the basis for the design and
establishes a sense of tranquility and peace central to
the success of the spa.

3 & 4. The Beaufort Sentosa Spa Botanica
With 10,000 sf of indoor luxury and 55,000 sf of
outdoor amenities, this spa was designed to capture
the healing powers of a tropical garden. Treatment
pavilions intermingle with float pools, labyrinths and
lush greenery to provide a spiritual refuge from the
hectic pace of the city.

Westin Guangzhou, Guangzhou, China
Elegant and simple, the 1,300 square meter elite spa
and state of the art workout facility span the 6th and
7th floor of the Westin Guangzhou Hotel. The spa
design and architecture move drastically away from
the traditional spa vocabulary, and transport the guest
from the hyperkinetic city to a place of reflection,
relaxation and restoration.

JOHOR INTERNATIONAL FINANCE AND COMMERCE CENTER

The Johor International Finance and Commerce Centre (JIFC) will anchor Vision City by
establishing it as a destination for world business and finance. Directly accessible via the new
coastal highway and an ultra-modern LRT stop, the centre will be distinguished by , an iconic
88-story office tower at its eastern end. A monument to modern finance and Malaysia s growing
stature in the international financial markets, the graceful tower will be the tallest in Johor and
recognizable around the world.
The JIFC, along with its auxiliary buildings, will provide the infrastructure, professional
environment, residential communities and critical mass necessary to propel Johor to a leadership

This waterfront development will incorporate an existing conference hall,
yacht club and restaurants with a new office building, a 4-Star Hotel, a service
apartment and a residential apartment tower. In addition, the development
will include a 5-Star hotel next to the conference hall (see Bay Leaf 5-Star
Hotel in the Resort & Hotel section). The complex will offer local residents
and visitors a luxury vacationing, living and working environment.
