Colleen Clark and the Batesville Main Street Board of Directors have worked tirelessly for months preparing to make this year’s event one of the best ever. Each year, local, regional and national talent gather to take the stage and this year is no exception. Diamond Rio is one of the premier bands of all times and has won many prestigious awards during their career. You don’t want to miss this amazing group when they take the stage on Saturday night. You may not realize how much work and planning has to be put into making sure that an event of this magnitude comes off without a hitch. The bands have to be booked, the t-shirts have to be designed and made, the posters have to be designed and made, the vendors have to be contacted, the stage and sound system has to be contracted, the carnival has to be booked, and all of this and more has to be coordinated with the City of Batesville through many planning sessions that are held months prior to the event. It’s amazing to me that all of this is done with only a small group of directors and volunteers when a lot of towns that put on events like this have committees that are made up of dozens of workers. Colleen Clark, Main Street Manager for the City of Batesville, and her group of volunteers should be highly commended for all of the hard work they put in each year to make this event so successful. For a town of less than 8000, it has got to be one of the best festivals in the state. And the best part is, it’s free to the public. Each year this event brings in around 6000 to 8000 visitors to our City. Let’s all make sure we welcome them with open arms so that in the future they will want to return, not just for the festival, but throughout the year. Forever forward! The Batesville Enterprise Center is the small business incubator located in the Harmon-Craig Industrial Park at 275 Nosef Drive. The building is approximately 20,000 square feet and contains both office and warehouse space. The individual offices range in size from about 200 to 900 square feet and are all wired for phones and internet. The warehouse space is approx. 13,000 square feet separated into four bays with bay doors and a loading dock. The building also has a breakroom and furnished lobby. Although our target clients are small and start-up businesses, our facility is also open to larger, existing companies. Retail establishments with walk-in customers are not recommended for our facility as our emphasis is on officesetting and warehouse/ manufacturing-type businesses.
