Good Friday Collection
April 18, 2014
Christians around the world are united in a
special way during Lent, Holy Week and Easter.
Our hearts, minds and prayers are also especially aware of the Holy
Land. Our parish, once a year on Good Friday, is called on to support
Christians in the Holy Land. Many Christians in the Holy Land depend
on the collection for their lives. As a pontifical collection requested by
Pope Francis, the annual Good Friday Collection offers a direct link for
parishioners to be witnesses of peace and to help protect the Holy
Places. When you donate on Good Friday, you are supporting
Christians in the Holy Land. Franciscans and others in the Holy Land
are housing and feeding the poor, providing religious formation and
education, maintaining shrines and parishes, and conducting pastoral
ministry. For more information, visit www.myfanciscan.org.
The Good Friday Collection is requested by the Holy Father.
Please be as generous as your abundance allows.
RECONCILIATION MONDAY
APRIL 14, 2014
3:00PM - 9:00PM
Come celebrate God’s mercy. It’s a
great thing to hear about God’s
merciful love. It’s even better to
experience it personally! No matter
how long it may have been since your
last confession - weeks, years or even
decades, there is no time like the start
of Holy Week to know the mercy of
God in the Sacrament of Penance.
Seize this moment of grace at the start
of Holy Week. Bring a friend.
Reminder: There are no confessions
on Holy Thursday, Good Friday or Holy
Saturday!
LEAVE A LEGACY TO ST. COLUMBA PARISH BY INCLUDING A BEQUEST IN YOUR WILL.

CELEBRATE THE DIVINE MERCY
APRIL 27, 2014
3:00pm
The celebration of the hour of great mercy will be
celebrated here at ST. COLUMBA PARISH on Sunday, April 27th at
3:00pm. The devotion will include Exposition and Benediction of the
Blessed Sacrament, the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and Veneration of
the Image of Divine Mercy. A priest will be available for confession at
2:30 and will be available throughout the duration of the celebration.
Please join us in prayer, adoration and reflection as we pray…. JESUS I
TRUST IN YOU! Jesus to St. Faustina: “My daughter, tell the whole
world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy
be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially poor sinners. On
that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a
whole ocean of graces upon these souls who approach the fount of My
mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy
Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and
punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace
flows are opened. Let no souls fear to draw near to Me, even though
its sins be as scarlet (Diary, 699)”. Come and give thanks to God for
His great gift of Mercy upon the whole world this Special Day!
ASK FOR MERCY. RECEIVE MERCY. BE MERCIFUL !
