The Museum creatively tells the story of the city’s vast and colorful past, creating a distinctive venue that you and your guests will remember. Spaces include reception, conference, and breakout rooms, as well as an auditorium and outdoor plaza. The Chicago Room With its Georgian-style architecture and breathtaking views, the Chicago Room provides a classic setting for any event. Entering through the Sanger P. Robinson Gallery, the Chicago Room features eight east-side windows overlooking the gardens in Lincoln Park. The interior walls feature 10 large backlit cases that display exquisite stainedglass windows by notables including Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Comfort Tiffany. © Artisan Events, Inc. The room’s 4,850 square feet can be divided easily by two partitions to create two or three separate spaces to accommodate groups of all sizes. The room features state-of-the-art technology, such as LCD projectors, push-button lighting, wireless microphone receivers, and a sound system that is designed to ensure optimal sound quality. The plaza is accessible from the Chicago Room, allowing guests to move easily from inside to outdoors, and offers endless event possibilities. The 15,000-square-foot space can be open or tented. Rubloff Auditorium & Wrigley Gallery Located on the Museum’s first floor, the Rubloff Auditorium is Chicago’s only 440-seat theater. Boasting beautiful 1932 architecture, it is perfect for keynote addresses, award presentations, and board meetings. Just outside the auditorium, the Wrigley Gallery offers an ideal location for a continental breakfast, registration, meeting breaks, or a small cocktail reception. The Museum’s newest exhibition, Facing Freedom, can complement your event. Conference & Breakout Rooms The Museum provides space for small conferences and for breakout sessions when used in conjunction with the Chicago Room or Rubloff Auditorium. The Guild Room offers a casual setting for meetings of up to 50 guests. The room has audiovisual capabilities and a wall of windows that provide natural lighting and a view of Lincoln Park. The Mandel Room provides a formal setting for meetings of up to 40 guests. It is ideal for board meetings, an intimate lecture, or a breakout room for larger meetings. Adjacent to the Mandel Room are three small breakout rooms that can accommodate five to eight people. North & Clark Café Situated on the Museum’s southwest side, the space is filled with natural light from its floor-toceiling windows. With its cathedral ceilings and views of the park and fountain, the space is perfect for intimate gatherings. 5 Planning Your Event Corporate & Nonprofit Events Perfect for a formal soirée, anniversary celebration, or company picnic, the Museum is the ideal location for your company’s special event. For corporate and nonprofit events, rental of the Museum includes access to the Chicago Room, Uihlein Plaza, and Robinson Gallery. Events also include a Museum event coordinator, security service, coat check, janitorial services, two hours for caterers and vendors to set up prior to the event, and 90 minutes to clean up. Additionally, corporate and nonprofit rentals include a gallery viewing for the first 90 minutes of your event. Additional galleries may be added and viewing times can be extended for an additional fee. No food or beverages are allowed in any of the Museum’s exhibition galleries. © Artisan Events, Inc. Daytime Meetings & Events For your daytime business meetings, conferences, and company outings, the Chicago History Museum offers special rates and packages to meet all of your event needs. The Museum can help you create all the details for the perfect wedding from well-dressed tables to a delicious menu served by our exclusive caterers. The Museum’s wedding package includes access to the Chicago Room, Uihlein Plaza, and Robinson Gallery, providing the ideal setting for indoor and outdoor ceremonies, mingling over cocktails, formal dinners, and dancing the night away. The rental package also includes security service, coat check, janitorial services, event insurance, a ceremony rehearsal time, and a Museum event coordinator to help you through every step of planning for your big day. Services & Amenities Catering The Museum offers clients the use of four exclusive caterers – Berghoff, Blue Plate, Food For Thought, and Jewell Events – who can provide a range of cuisines and menu options. All food service, as well as event setup and cleanup, is provided by your choice of one of these caterers. Beverage service will be provided through the Museum’s beverage program. Please contact us for additional details. Equipment Rental The Museum has equipment available for rent at an additional fee. Available equipment includes a variety of tables and ivory wood garden chairs. Audiovisual equipment packages available include a projector package and sound packages. Additionally, clients can rent DVD and CD players, cameras, audio or video recording devices, the Museum’s baby grand piano, and the services of a dedicated audiovisual staff person. Parking © Kristina Carter-Vrai Our secure, well-lit parking facility can accommodate up to 460 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Museum can help you arrange valet parking or guests may self-park in the Museum’s lot and have their tickets validated for a discounted fee. Additionally, clients may purchase parking validation tickets to cover the cost of parking for their guests. Taxicabs, limousines, buses, and motor coaches may drop off guests at the Museum entrance and park nearby.
