As the city’s oldest cultural institution, the Chicago
History Museum is uniquely Chicago. The Museum
creatively tells the story of the city’s vast and colorful
past, creating a distinctive venue that you and your
guests will remember.
Spaces include reception, conference, and breakout
rooms, as well as an auditorium and outdoor plaza.
The Chicago Room
With its Georgian-style architecture and
breathtaking views, the Chicago Room provides a
classic setting for any event. Entering through the
Sanger P. Robinson Gallery, the Chicago Room
features eight east-side windows overlooking the
gardens in Lincoln Park. The interior walls feature
10 large backlit cases that display exquisite stainedglass windows by notables including Frank Lloyd
Wright and Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Set among the gardens of Lincoln Park and against
the backdrop of the Chicago skyline, Uihlein
Plaza is the perfect space for outdoor receptions,
ceremonies, or seated dinners. The plaza is
accessible from the Chicago Room, allowing guests
to move easily from inside to outdoors, and offers
endless event possibilities. The 15,000-square-foot
space can be open or tented.
Rubloff Auditorium &
Wrigley Gallery
Located on the Museum’s first floor, the Rubloff
Auditorium is Chicago’s only 440-seat theater.
Boasting beautiful 1932 architecture, it is perfect for
keynote addresses, award presentations, and board
meetings. Just outside the auditorium, the Wrigley
Gallery offers an ideal location for a continental
breakfast, registration, meeting breaks, or a small
cocktail reception. The Museum’s newest exhibition,
Facing Freedom, can complement your event.
Conference & Breakout Rooms
The Museum provides space for small conferences
and for breakout sessions when used in conjunction
with the Chicago Room or Rubloff Auditorium.
The Guild Room offers a casual setting for meetings
of up to 50 guests. The room has audiovisual
capabilities and a wall of windows that provide
natural lighting and a view of Lincoln Park.
The Mandel Room provides a formal setting for
meetings of up to 40 guests. It is ideal for board
meetings, an intimate lecture, or a breakout room for
larger meetings. Adjacent to the Mandel Room are
three small breakout rooms that can accommodate
five to eight people.
North & Clark Café
Situated on the Museum’s southwest side, the
space is filled with natural light from its floor-toceiling windows. With its cathedral ceilings and
views of the park and fountain, the space is perfect
for intimate gatherings.
