The specificity of the development of research at ŠU is characterised by
transformations – till 1998 traditionally dominating researches in social sciences
(Education) later were expanded by researches in all other spheres of science:

Living and Studying
Šiauliai University students have many sources of learning,
entertainment, cultural and leisure activities. Moreover, they
successfully compete in basketball, handball, rugby and other
competitions. The University has its own Gallery, Botanical Garden,
Educational Theatre, Career Center and TV.

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is one of the biggest
interdisciplinary student associations in Europe, founded in 1990 for supporting
and developing student exchange.
ESN works both in the interest of exchange students and also homecoming
