MOTHER’S DAY PROMOTIONS
Mother’s Day promotions this year are appealing
to the many different aspects of women’s lives.
Jewelry, work apparel, sportswear, shoes,
yoga and fitness accessories, juicers and china
are all popular categories for Mother’s Day
deals. But jewelry is definitely the leader in
terms of promotions, and the way stores are
handling their jewelry promos is interesting.
Bloomingdale’s is offering a “secret jewelry sale”
to invited customers only. Macy’s is promoting
sales on a variety of jewelry, with additional
discounts available for holders of
Macy’s Cards or Savings Passes.
Similarly, Kohl’s is running
Mother’s Day jewelry sales for
a week, but during that time,
the company is holding a
2-Day Sale featuring much
larger discounts.

The Macy’s Mother’s Day Sale
includes savings storewide, a
three-day fine jewelry special and
25% off on designer handbags.
Shoppers can enjoy an extra
discount of 10%–20% off select
sale and clearance items with a
Macy’s Card or Savings Pass.
ALL FOR MOM
Kmart is offering up to 75% off all
fine jewelry as well as a different
special offer each day during
Mother’s Day week. Members will
get a $10 reward card with any Visa
Gift Card purchase of $100 or more.
MOM SMILES
Walgreens and CVS are
celebrating Mother’s Day with
special offers on cosmetics,
chocolates and other gifts. Both
are also offering a wide range of
gift cards for other stores,
such as Macy’s and Kohl’s.

Walmart is continuing its trend
of marketing healthier food and
products. Some of the same
healthier items that have been on
sale the last few weeks, such as
yogurts, vitamins and juicers, are
on sale again this week.

Marks & Spencer is rewarding
loyal customers with discounts
and personalized incentives
to shop in store and online,
offering 20% off and a £5
voucher that can be redeemed
for housewares, beauty or
clothing.
BANK HOLIDAY
House of Fraser and Marks &
Spencer used the long weekend
to capture consumer attention this
week. While House of Fraser offered
30% off across many of its clothing
ranges, Marks & Spencer showed
its very British roots by advising
customers to “weatherproof” their
bank holiday. Both retailers offered
discounts across clothing categories,
while Marks & Spencer made use of
the possible rain to advertise its Dine
in for Two offer. It also included some
picnic essentials just in case the
weather cooperated.
