10 fun things to do on march break!
March Break for kids is an awesome time for family fun! March break also
means filling your schedule... We’ve rounded up 10 of our favourite
seasonal activities!
1. Spend a couple of days in the city playing tourist. Check out
the latest exhibits at the museum or Science Centre. Many
attractions offer special March Break activities.
2. Get the family outdoors to enjoy a Winter Sport! If the
weather is cooperating, try ice skating, tobogganing, hockey,
snow tubing, snowshoeing, dog-sledding, downhill or crosscountry skiing.
3. Invite friends and family over for make-your-own-pizza night.
4. Get fit as a family. Go to your local recreation centre for some
inexpensive (even free) activities. Your city website will post admission
rates and activities during March Break. Find out which pools are open for free
family swims, and which arenas have free family-skating days.
5. Go on a winter scavenger hunt! Young and old will love the thrill of discovery in the great outdoors. A winter
scavenger hunt can include: animal tracks in the snow, pine cones, twigs, icicles, a tunnel made in the snow
by animals, a frozen waterfall, cocoons, nests, or identifying various pine trees.
6. Organize a movie marathon with your family’s favourite movies. Don't forget to serve fun movie snacks!
7. Host a Family Game Night! Bring out the board games... It's a fun-filled way to spend quality time with your
family while sparking a little friendly competition.
8. Spend some time at your local library, selecting favourite books, movies or music. It's all Free! Chances are
your library may be also hosting special March Break programs and events.
9.
Go geocaching. It's a fun recreational outdoor activity that gets families out into nature. This futuristic
treasure hunt, is currently being played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with a GPS
(Global Positioning System) device.
10. Raid the craft supplies in your home and get the kids working on Spring, Easter or Passover crafts.
