EPICUREAN
EVENING
"A Taste of Space"
Happy New Year! It is truly a wonderful time to be
involved with our Clear Lake Area Chamber and to see
everything in the works for 2008. One of the most exciting
ideas we are working on is Chamber 2012, a project organized under Joe Mayer, Lockheed Martin. The Chamber
2012 Committee is in the process of outlining a five year
strategic plan for our Chamber, which will identify specific
goals and ideas to promote the cultural, educational, civic,
commercial, industrial and general development of the Clear
Lake Area. The Chamber is a vital part of growth in the area,
and through Chamber 2012, your Board of Directors is
taking steps to ensure the Chamber continues to be on the
forefront of that growth.
Hopefully, you participated in some of our December
events. The Christmas Boat Lane Parade was magnificent. We
could not pull off this wonderful event every year without
the sponsors and volunteers that make it happen, and I am
grateful for everyone’s involvement. I want to thank Chairman Jim Christiansen, Lockheed Martin, and his committee
for all their hard work and Windsong Charters for allowing
the committee and me to ride on Windsong in the parade. I
also want to thank everyone who participated and donated
food for our Annual Holiday Open House.
As we start 2008, I will continue to re-issue my challenge
to every member to make the most of your chamber membership. Get involved! We have numerous committees and
activities in 2008, and there is no better way to take advantage
of what the Chamber has to offer than by being involved. We
are starting meetings for the Spring Fever Golf Classic in
January, and our Epicurean Evening and 5K 4 Fireworks Fun
Run & Walk are quickly approaching. I look forward to
seeing you at one of the events, Business After Hours or
luncheons this year.
Very truly yours,
