Men`s Retreat 2015 - Grove Christian Camp

What to Expect:
Each year at Grove Christian Camp we get
a bunch of guys together to do guy things
and challenge one another to lead in our
families, at our jobs and in our churches.
This year is no different… are you ready to
step up to the challenge?
Friday - when you arrive, find your bunk
and get to the lodge for the roast beef
dinner and all the fixings. That evening in
the gym you will meet our featured speaker
and hear about the excitement the
weekend will bring. Stay up as late as you
with snacks and fun through the night.
Saturday - wake up to man breakfast, fill up
and prepare for the highland games. We
will have 2 sessions on Saturday as well as
events throughout the day. (check out the
event list in this brochure). If the events
aren’t your thing, don’t worry, coffee is
always hot, donuts are served and
hecklers at the events are appreciated. If
paintball is your thing, Saturday afternoon
is your time… a nap’s not bad either…

Jeff and his wife Riley
call Gooding, Idaho
their home. Jeff has
been the Associate
Pastor at Gooding
Christian Church
since his graduation
from Boise Bible
College in 2000.
Jeff has a passion for raising up young
men to mighty men for Jesus. Jeff started
a leadership camp for young man called
SWAT Camp (Spiritual Warfare Advanced
Training).
The camp incorporates
scriptural challenges combined with
paintball and modern warfare tactics to
encourage young men to answer their call.

We encourage everyone to participate in
the events or at least provide moral
support for your clan!
Rock Put:
This test of pure raw strength involves launching
a river rock as far as humanly possible, to be
thrown much like a Shot Put. Yell strong afterward
for more distance.
Closest to Pin:
Take a swing at it. The closest chip shot across the
camp to the pin wins one incredible prize and the
fame and prestige of getting lucky.
Caber Toss
Highland Games
Brute guided strength is the key the to this event.
It’s not about how far you can throw your caber,
it’s about how accurate your caber lands and how
many muscles you didn’t pull.

If you can get them off the horse, this event is an
all time favorite. Join the round robin tournament
and see successful you can be against Grove
Camp’s elite. I’m told it’s 90% mental.

Larry Bird and Michael Jordan once had an epic
battle of HORSE for Cheese Burgers. The prize isn’t
nearly big, but being called a HORSE is painful.
Horseshoes
A steady consistent hand wins this event. Much
like darts a bulls eye is the goal but some of us
are just happy to keep it in the hay bales.
