WELCOME
XM25!!
MARCH-APRIL 2016
XM25, IT’S TIME FOR
CIAPARAT!
Ciaparat, a meaningless name to most of you reading this
neswletter…. Only those nearer to our company could understand the
meaning, as it comes from the strict dialect of Lombardy. It is a
nickname indicating literally a mousetrap like that often used
unsuccessfully by Tom Cat to capture friend/enemy Jerry Mouse… but
is also a word used in dialect to address - as a joke- something
senseless or worthless, something not to be considered.
What is a better name for a project known to few and kept secretly
among the walls of Skunk Work MagniGyro?
Protected and unnamed for a long time, Ciaparat took shape in August
2014 with the first drafts, theories, fantasies..in a thrilling journey of
growth, research and discoveries against our certainties and our
experiences.
Efforts, dreams, compromises and hopes until the most awaited day,
with a couple of weeks before the due date: that of the first flight! Day
of Judgement, a day of concentration and full of anxiety… closure day
at MagniGyro. Nobody is answering the phone, tightening bolts,
welding, painting or laminating composite parts, because it is the day
of Ciaparat. Everybody is hoping that future could be called with the
same joking nickname and pushing to flight this new dream with eyes
and heart… Prerotation, some taxiing and then only the first comments
via radio, once flying, manage to get a smile out of us! On landing joy
replaces anxiety, laughings, raised arms and tightened fists in sign of
victory, applauses, handshakes and even some teardrops, because
the dream has come true… because we succeeded!... Again…
Nowadays Ciaparat is very different from the first flight as the path of
changes from prototype to preseries is long and curved, but there are
all the premises to do things right!
A big thank you to all of you, customers,
those enthusiastic, those curious, all
this is possible thanks to you who are
supporting us day by day and feed our
will to keep on improving, astonishing
and flying on a gyro higher and higher!
It has been a hard and
demanding work… to keep it
hidden until now! But to be
honest I had a lot of fun to
keep the “new kid on the
block” secret. All those
escapes,
excuses,
nicknames, code names,
and flight tests, everything
was
done
to
protect
confidential
business
information that in case of
project failure would have
blown
everything
away
without regrets.
However it was not a failure
indeed… the newborn is a
Magni! This was the most
important comment at the
end of the first day of test
flights, which took place
secretly on 1st February
2016, by chance exactly 9
years after the first flight of its
older brother, XM23 Orion!
…is it a lucky sign of fate?
Our only big regret is the
missed chance to show it
flying to a great friend, an
extraordinary man as to
generosity,
professional
skills and optimism he could
give every time he visited
us… Dear Dario, you’ll have
a front-row seat up above to
follow
the
next
developments,
without
waiting for our newsletter…
Thanks from the heart!

MAGNIGYRO IN
MEXICO!
MagniGyro
starts
its
adventure in Mexico. The first
gyroplane
was
finally
delivered to its owner in the
interesting Central American
market after a period of
develpment and advertising. It
was the M16 FULL OPTION.

FULL SPEED
AHEAD,
FRANCE!
MagniGyro
continues
its
frequent deliveries to France
with over 2 gyros per month on
average. Target
sharing,
customer satisfaction, an
organised communication and
a new point of view of the
French market start yielding
unhoped-for results according
to the more and more
professional Reseau d’Expert
Magni.
2016 is therefore starting well
with 4 gyroplanes to end
clients and 6 gyros for a fleet
revamp of Reseau (the last
one is being tested while you
are reading this newsletter).
M16 Expert still predominates
as it is mainly used in flight
schools
whereas
its
manageability results in an
incomparable
cost
effectiveness.
However, Orion is gaining
approvals as is more and
more appreciated by experts,
thanks to its efficiency also in
winter weather.
TRIP
SPEED OVER A RECOGNIZED COURSE:
DALLAS - LA - NYC - DALLAS!
“In aviation, it seems that every conceivable record has been
claimed. From speeds to altitudes to endurance, it is increasingly
difficult to truly be an aviation pioneer anymore. One would think
that an aircraft with the historical significance of the gyroplane
would be no exception, but
fortunately, quite the opposite is
true. It is, indeed, a great time to
be involved in record setting in
gyroplanes. As John Craparo and
I flew the entire width (and back)
of the United States in his MAGNI
M16TT,
setting
three
world
records along the way, we both
commented multiple times how
fortunate we were to have the
opportunity to see the beauty of
the world from a Magni gyro.
Throughout 73 hours of flight
time,
the
aircraft
performed flawlessly (we
expected nothing less
from
the
quality
workmanship of Magni
Gyro).
We
owe
substantial gratitude to
the
Magni
family,
including
all
of
the
employees
of
Magni
Gyro, that made our trip
possible.Enjoy your gyro! John and I sure enjoy ours! “

TECH
NEW SPACE FOR M24 ORION!
NEW POSITIVE
SIGNS IN THE UK!
Celebrating over 200 units produced and following popular demand, a
new option is finally available for
M24 Orion! It’s an 8 liter capacity
storing at the co-pilot’s control
panel. A retrofitting version of the
existing fleet will be shortly
available, too. This storing is
ample and useful for those who
love long-distance travels with
their Orion. As it has an extra
electrical plug for mobiles, tablets or gps on the bottom, it allows the use
of all those supporting
tools that could not find
their right place in the
cockpit till now… We
might say it is really what
was missing!
Good news from the UK to
MagniGyro
and
new
deliveries planned in May.
PRODUCTION
TARGET: 1000 UNITS!
While we are writing, the gyroplane number 968 is being delivered and
we start thinking on the
arrangements for a big party!!
To us of MagniGyro, 1000
units produced are a goal
even bigger than what we
expected, but now that it
seems really close at hand, all
we can do is to thank you all
for your thoughts and support
showed. We’ll keep on with
the passion, dedication and
professionalism
which
characterized
this
long
story…
…the
company
cannot
guarantee
serious
and
professional
behaviours
during the night after the flight test of the thousandth Magni gyroplane!

Even though production and
design have permanently
moved
to
the
Italian
headquarter, the market
does not lose faith and the
efforts in the corporate
restructuring have paid off.
Moreover certification plans
for M22 Voyager and for M16
with a Rotax 912S engine
continue. They are two
different gyroplanes, which
meet pilots’ different needs:
Voyager can offer enough
space for luggages for long
cross-country flights; M16
with a Rotax 912S engine is
instead the right choice to fly
Magni but with limited
budgets.

Developing good habits is
certainly right! MagniGyro
has been cooperating with
IAPGT already for some time
and invite all gyro pilots to
make sure that these good
habits are used each day to
improve flight safety.
Thanks to this cooperation
it’s easy to: arrange correctly
a mission trip, undergo
critical checks, remember
expiry dates of licences or
insurences, understand and
evaluate your skill level,
check the time of your last
flight and much more on your
smartphone!
As a consequence a web
portal was created and kindly
offered to all new Magni
Gyro’s
customers.
www.magni.gyropedia.com
is a true digital logbook, easy
to fill and planned to ensure
that good habits could
guarantee happier and safer
flights!
COURSES
MAGNIGYRO ASSEMBLY KIT EXPERIENCE!
A big effort was made by our friends Dayton, Mark e Doug, who came
to Italy from the U.S.A. to
complete their three new Magni
gyroplanes under the watchful
eye of MagniGyro’s technicians!
It was a big effort indeed, but also
big was the expertise they gained
and priceless their satisfaction
during flight-tests, always a
moment of great emotions, a dream coming true. In this case, it was
also an exam about a personal growth and about an inexplicable
relationship between man and his machine
Three gyros will soon fly in the USA: an M16 914 to Dayton Dabbs’s
flight school at Lone Star Magni Gyro Inc. in Austin, Texas; an M16
912S to “Magni Owner’s Club” in Austin and an M22 Voyager of our
friend Doug to New Mexico. In addition, a new kit M24 to be
assembled in Tennessee will follow. MagniGyro is therefore
stregthening its presence in the USA
(which is now the 6th MagniGyro biggest
fleet in the world), while waiting for an
opening by FAA to sell fully built gyros
under the umbrella of Primary Category.
The next session of MagniGyro Assembly
Kit Experience is planned on the end of
July and includes about 15 days of kit
assembling,
following
the
quality
procedures of the company. This offers
the chance to learn ones’ own gyro, from
raw materials to flight tests, in the typical
cozy Italian mood and under the support
of the most specialized technicians in the
field.
At the end you won’t miss the chance to
fly and enjoy the landscape from a
privileged perspective…. on a Magni!

MISSION
Wildlife Works Elephant Protection Trust
Thank you all for your
generous donations, the
protection of this precious
wildlife habitat continues
with the help of the M24
flying
over
Tsavo
conservation area (Kenya)
by Wildlife Works Elephant
Protection Trust. You just have to contact Greg Hellyer at
Gyrocopterskenya@outlook.com to arrange a placement as a
volunteer co-pilot and spotter in the anti-poaching operations. This is a
very exciting and unique way to
enoy
a
wild
and
uncontaminated landscape by
being on board of an Orion, and
a tangible way to support this
important project. But if Kenya
seems too far away, then don’t
worry as you can continue
supporting Keith Hellyer’s
mission by visiting the website
www.gofundme.com/flyingforelephants
and donating a little
contribution intended to pay the management fees of the operations.
