Dear friends,
After a successful re-launch in 2015, Voilah ! French Festival Singapore is coming
back in April and May 2016. Its ambition is to be firmly anchored in the Singaporean
landscape and to promote French creativity and innovation in culture, science and
gastronomy.
Voilah! wants to be a meeting point between French and Singaporean communities
and a celebration of a strong relationship built over the years with our Singaporean
partners, institutions, cultural and scientific centers.
The program, featuring some 40 events, includes a wide range of concerts, exhibitions,
dance performances, scientific events, conferences and movies and, for the first time,
we have the pleasure to count on the partnership of a French region, AquitaineLimousin-Poitou-Charente, a region famous, among other things, for Bordeaux wine!
More than ever, Voilah! Food will be part and parcel of the festival, since the opening
week-end will feature a great picnic-concert at the Botanic gardens. Don’t forget to book
your basket online!
Voilah! Food will showcase French cooking and quality products from 15th April to 31st
May, thanks to some 60 partners – restaurants, bars, bakeries, retailers and wine and
spirits distributors. There will be special promotions and activities listed in the booklet,
and French cuisine will even be promoted in community centers, with cooking lessons
provided in partnership with ITE and People’s Association.
Voilah! is organised by the Institut Français de Singapour and the French Embassy, in
collaboration with the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and the Alliance
française and, for Voilah! Food, with Sopexa and the French Ministry of Agriculture. Last
but not least, this festival has only been made possible with the support of our partners
and sponsors. I would like to warmly thank each and every one of them. Thanks to this
collective mobilization, Voilah! is becoming the perennial rendez-vous we all want it
to be.
