february 2014 newsletter
12th March, 2014
Greetings!
It's been another busy month here at Pac Performance with plenty of action both on and off the track; included in
this months newsletter are some of the highlights.
On the home stretch - Mark
Brenner Pro Compact RX3
The long-awaited race debut of Mark
Brenner's 13B Pro Compact RX3 is just
around the corner.
The engine for the sexy, slammed sedan
has been carefully pieced together and work
is now under way to install the new running
gear into the car, ready to make some noise
Understandably Mark is not getting any sleep these days, his
head full of anticipation of the fun that is to come.
The team here at Pac Performance have been working hard
to get the car to where it's at today and we too cannot wait to
see the car finally hit the strip and performing well and seeing
another happy customer enjoying their new toy; that's just the
ultimate for us!
Stay tuned for more updates on the build as it progresses...
A new Pac Pro Turbo 20B
Terror soon to debut
After many years of track time their in
little blue 13BT Mazda 1000 ute known
as 'YAMUMA', the Gibbos Racing lads
are taking things to the next level,
purchasing this sexy-looking RX3
sedan.
The slammed sedan is currently a
roller but will soon receive its new
heart, a killer 2000+hp Garrett turbofed 20B combo that will be backed by a T400 3-speed automatic.
The goal for the car is to be a reliable and relatively low maintenance monster that can tear up the track on a
regular basis without the usual post run craziness usually associated with cars at this level of performance.
Unfortunately due to Gibbo himself being visually impaired he won't be driving the car on the 'track'...But he has
promised that the car will be a crowd pleaser on the strip! Let's just say the person that will be behind the wheel
knows what he's doing (or at least tries to act like he does...) and knows a thing or two about big smokey, get the
crowd on their feet burnouts...
George Marcevski's Factory Extreme Mazda6 fires up
Work is in full-swing on George Marcevski's Factory Extreme Mazda6, the
big 20B has been built and is now sitting in its new full chassis home.
After a marathon fit-up in near record time the 20B fired into life and just like
our own Mazda6 SP it sounded angry as hell!!
George is amped to be that much closer to hitting the track in the new car
and we're all keen to see if he can handle the 220+mph combo we've put
together for him...
To celebrate the progress and to allow you guys
to enjoy the moment with us we even pieced
together a quick start-up video clip, giving a rare
behind the scenes look at one of our pro cars...
George and all of us here at Pac Performance
can't wait to get this thing on the track...
As work progresses we will keep you all posted
on our Facebook page as well as the website..
In-house machine shop is operational
Some exciting news for the team here at Pac
Performance and our customers; our in-house
machine shop is now fully operational...
With a much broader range of machinery, tooling
and design programming on hand we're now able
to expand our product manufacturing and
services even more while also allowing us to
increase our productivity and boost R&D
projects to the next level.
So what does this mean for you guys...? More high quality products, quicker turnaround & competitive pricing just
to name a few things...
Dedicated to training the next generation...
Pac Performance has always placed a big focus on helping
to guide and teach the next generation of tradesman for our
industry; the guys & girls that will continue to grow the
performance automotive scene into the future.
Just recently our young apprentice Liam Burgess was
honored for his hard work and determination in the
classroom and the workplace, being appointed school
prefect and receiving the Saint Yon Captain badge for representing young apprentices and students doing
vocational courses through LaSalle Catholic College
This is a tremendous achievement and the whole Pac performance team would like to congratulate Liam and
encourage him to keep up the good work and strive to learn something new each day.
The Godfather returns!
Set to make a big come-back on the strip real soon, Sam 'The Godfather' Sadek's 20B RX3 is also nearing
completion after its full rebuild.
With the goal to have the car competing at the upcoming Sydney Jamboree event the boys are working overtime on
the car to try and make it happen.
A fresh 20B bullet has been built and installed into the car, with everything in the under-bonnet area pretty much
ready to go at this stage...All that's really left is to finish
a few smaller jobs before the car is bolted up to the hub
dyno for the all-important tune...
Kevin Awad Pro289 20B RX8
Campaigning a bright yellow 20B RX4 sedan
known as TUF20B a few years ago, Kevin Awad
was one of the original pioneers of the small tyre
drag racing scene that went on to become the
current ST289 and PRO289 classes of today.
Running a best of 8.6@158 the RX4 was a solid
performer on the track and one of only a few
automatic cars running at the pointy end of the
field at the time.
Come 2014, Kevin will be returning to the track in another wild 20B machine, this time in the form of this wicked
iridescent yellow RX8 you see here.
The engine powering the beast will of course be a 20B, treated to a bridge port, billet crank and one of our billet
centre plates, along with a host of other performance ancillaries including a Garrett GTX55 turbo and other go-fast
goodies from Haltech & Turbosmart to name a few. Backing up the staunch 20B will be a built T400 Automatic and a
near bulletproof 9 inch ladder bar rear-end setup.
For more info and pics of the car be sure to check out web feature here and be sure to keep an eye on our
Facebook page for more updates as they happen.
4RIPN Mini-Tubbed 13BT 929 Wagon
The '4RIPN' 929 Wagon ready to head off for its next stage of the build; a full body restoration.
It's no easy task to take an odd-ball car like this wagon and make it into something desirable & tough but with some
Pac lovin' she's well on her way to becoming a very unique ride.
We've hooked the car up with a set of mini tubs
to house the fat 19x13in FR Simmons under the
rear, fitted massive Wilwood brakes all-'round,
built & installed a full H/D 9in diff conversion as
well as one of our popular 9sec Jatco gearbox
packages, completed a full E85 conversion
including a custom tank/pump combo while also
adding a few under bonnet goodies as well, like a
new Alloy radiator/oil cooler combo, H/D 4in
intercooler, piping, intake and much more...
The car will be back at the workshop for further
work at a later date and we'll be sure to update you on the cars progress then so stay tuned...
New Release - 2-piece 13B
Excentric Shaft
When you're pushing your 13B rotary
to the limit in the search of big power
and quick times in your street, drag or
track car you will come to a point
where the factory Mazda engine
components begin the reach their
limits and you will need to look into
aftermarket upgrades to be able to
push on. That's exactly how the Pac
Performance 13B 2-Piece Centre
Bearing Eccentric Shaft comes into
play.
Designed and manufactured, high horsepower, high boost and and high RPM applications the precision-CNC
machined Pac Performance 13B 2-Piece Centre Bearing Eccentric Shaft is a big step forward in chasing numbers
reliably.
On top of a significant weight saving over a factory one piece Mazda crank, one of the biggest advantages of
utilizing the Pac Performance 13B 2-Piece Centre Bearing Eccentric Shaft in your engine is its ability to distribute
load across all three engine plates, reducing stress and the likelihood of cracking engine plates.
Other positive advantages of the Pac Performance 13B 2-Piece Centre Bearing Eccentric Shaft include elimination
of crank flex which reduces stationary gear distortion and increases bearing life, whilst also allowing the engine
builder to set much tighter tolerances which in-turn increases horsepower potential and overall engine life.

website here...
New release - Garrett GTX 3582R FG XR6T Falcon Upgrade
There's no doubting the popularity of the Garrett GTX3582R upgrade for the Falcon XR6T, whether it's on paper,
the dyno or the track the results speak for themselves and getting all of this from what's basically a bolt-on upgrade
is simply amazing.
Pac performance have supplied numerous
GTX3582R XR6T combos to customers with BA
and BF series Falcons, ready to go with our
custom CNC folded wastegate actuator bracket
but with the newer FG Falcons having the
actuator mounted on the opposite side of the
compressor cover have always been a one-off
custom job...That was until now.
To make the upgrade as easy as possible for the
FG Falcon owners we have designed and
manufactured new actuator brackets to suit the
revised mounting points and are now happy to announce that they be available as part of our off-the-shelf FG XR6T
upgrade. No more dodgy cut-n-shut jobs, our brackets are CNC folded, just like the BA/BF series items for a
perfect fit and correct actuator operation.
For more info, pics and pricing check out the full feature on our website here.
New Release - RX3 Alloy Fuel Filler Neck
We're always looking for ways to further improve, adapt
and update products that are already available to our
customers and we're excited to finally release our new
alloy RX3/808 fuel filler necks to further compliment our
popular fuel tank/in-tank pumps combos.
Designed and manufactured as direct replacements for the
factory Mazda filler neck, the Pac Performance alloy Fuel
Filler Neck puts an end to those annoying leaking cap seals and fuel stained rear quarters thanks to the new billet
screw-on cap.
Etched with the iconic Pac rotor logo and anodized in a durable & stylish black finish they are available to suit both
the factory filler hose diameter or aftermarket 2" ID hose as used on our custom tank setups. With all original
breathers & return fittings retained it makes for a trouble-free install and an awesome addition for that top-notch,
high detail build.
Microtech LT16C now FlexFuel
friendly
While the Microtech LT-16C ECU may not be a
brand new addition to our catalog we thought
we'd highlight the fact that this high quality ECU is
now fully Flex Fuel/E85 compatible, with
the ability to utilise a flex fuel sensor being added
to the already long list of features this ECU
offers.
As MicroTech's flagship model ECU, the LT-16C
has the capabilities & many of the features seen
on its competitors more expensive units while still retaining MicroTech's ease of installation & tunability all at an
affordable price.
At home running a daily driver street cars to full-on competition vehicles the Microtech LT-16C has all bases
covered and is the ECU of choice for Australia's quickest 13B, Andrew 'The Dentist' Maratos' RX3; built tuned here
at Pac Performance.
With 8 injector & ignition outputs as standard the Microtech LT16C has the capability to run engines up to 16
cylinders & 4 rotors as well as controlling sequential injection on 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines, 2, 3 and 4 rotor Mazda
rotary engines and direct fire ignition for engines up to 8 cylinders or 4 rotors, or wasted spark ignition on engines
up to 16 cylinders. It will also support most factory ignition systems such as multi coil and distributor as well as
aftermarket ignition systems such as CDi's or MSD. For the best bang for your buck combo however, the
Microtech LT16C is commonly used with the Microtech X6 igniter box, providing an extremely high output direct fire
ignition system without breaking the bank
An exciting new feature added to the Microtech LT16C is the addition of a CAN output which will allow the
MicroTech ECU to connect directly to most common aftermarket dash loggers such as Racepak, PCS or MoTec.
The MicroTech transmits data via the CAN bus at 1 Mbit/second.
Pac Performance is an authorised Microtech dealer, supplying, installing and tuning the whole Microtech product
range. If you're thinking Microtech, think Pac Performance; from initial purchase to final tune we've got you covered
with un-matched after sales service and assistance...
