From the Fleet-Captain:
As winter loosens its icy grip and allows Sandy
Beach Yacht Club to enter its 74th year, I am reminded of one of the key purposes of our organization, to promote the friendship and fellowship of
our members. This will be the focus of the work of
our fleet captains and waterfront committees this
season. To this end an ambitious schedule of waterfront activities will be offered including planned
trips, racing, and a program of junior sailing under
the tutelage of our most seasoned sailors. Please
check your Ditty Bag throughout the summer for
details.
In the spirit of Opening Day allow me to offer this
toast to our membership, a group past and present
who has made all that is SBYC possible… “To

Spring has Sprung!! I hope we have another wonderful
summer like last year! Finally the weather has turned.
The women's Organization has many ideas for the upcoming season. June 14th we are planning a Fathers
Day TGIF with chicken prepared by Chiavettas and a
meat raffle for all those Dads to warm up those grills.
We also have an opportunity for family or boat pictures
at our beautiful club! If anyone is interested in setting
up a photo session they can contact me at dmgarcia23@hotmail.com for package prices or more information.
Toni Sargent is working on a SBYC cookbook! This is
a great way to share some of your families delicious
recipes. Please send your recipes to Toni at visaversa@verizon.net
This month The Women's Organization made a donation to Children's Hospital. Please consider joining The
Women's Organization memberships are accepted anytime and we would love to have you! Here's to a great
season.

Reminder to Party Chairmen – if you want your party
poster to be displayed on the SBYC website please send
it to me as early as you can. I will have at least the next
full month in the “Upcoming Events” section. I need either a Word document, PowerPoint, a PDF or a hi-res
graphics image. I can turn all of them into a PDF that
everyone can see and print out. My email address is
bob.zielinski@gmail.com. I update the website about
once a week so please take that into consideration and
get your posters done EARLY.

My mom, Pat Taggart fell and broke her hip.
She is in Sisters Hospital awaiting medical
clearance for surgery (as of 4/13) - possibly
partial hip replacement. She is very frail.
