Allocated rider time may vary slightly, but the draw order will not. Stewards and officials are present to help the event run smoothly and on time. For the safety of competitors and spectators, please obey any directions given by a steward or official. Dogs must be under effective control at all times and are not allowed in marshalling or competition areas, including any part of the indoor arenas unless participating in the dog events at the dinner on Wednesday night. This event is to be run under EA / FEI rules in so far as they are applicable to this event and shall include any other rules formulated by the organising Committee or National Interschool Rules. We strongly recommend that all competitors obtain a copy of the relevant EA/FEI Rules through the EV website www.vic.equestrian.org.au. Horse Welfare The welfare of the horse is paramount. Instances of cruelty or mistreatment will be reported to the Organising Committee. Unsoundness – Judges are required to satisfy themselves regarding soundness of all horses and therefore have the authority to stop an unsound horse during competition. At other times a horse that is stopped or reported by an official who considers it to be unsound must attend the Veterinary Surgeon before continuing on in competition. Rider Number Each horse must wear a bridle or saddle number on each side of bridle or saddle cloth. For showing classes a neck number holder may be used. This must be worn at all times. Competitors are to provide their own number holders. Codes of Conduct for EA Conducted Equestrian Events It is the responsibility of parents, team managers and riders to be aware of the Codes of Conduct for competitors, spectators and volunteers as well as other relevant Codes and Policies relating to equestrian events under EA rules. Volunteers and Helpers The running of equestrian events relies heavily on volunteers. At the Interschool Championships, volunteers will include numerous parents and other supporters. Abuse by a rider, parent or associated person that is aimed at any volunteer or official at an EA Interschool event will not be tolerated. Incidents of this nature will result in immediate elimination of the rider. Many of our helpers are experienced, others are not. Be sure to ask for assistance if you are unsure of what to do. To keep the event on time, it is crucial for helpers to report to the Volunteer Coordinator 15 minutes before their scheduled duty begins and upon reporting to the designated area there will be a handover from the current volunteer in the role. It is the responsibility of the helper to notify the Volunteer Coordinator and find a replacement if they are unable to fulfil their allocated duty. Helpers who do not perform their designated duty risk the elimination of their corresponding competitor. Motorised bikes and scooters Motorised bikes and scooters ARE NOT permitted. Swabbing The use of prohibited substances in your horse is not tolerated and riders must be aware that swabbing of horses will occur at random and will be conducted at this event. Points allocation and placings Points will be awarded as follows for every event entered e.g. if you enter the novice dressage and do 2 tests you will receive points for each test if you place 1st to 10th. If you enter the show jumping and jump in 3 events you will receive the points for every event where a rider places 1st to 10th. Combined training is counted as 1 event only. Each phase in show horse is counted as a separate event e.g. 3 events for Show Horse, 3 for Show Hunter, 3 for Working Hunter. Points are awarded: 1st place – 10pts 6th place – 5pts 2nd place – 9pts 7th place – 4pts 3rd place – 8pts 8th place – 3pts 4th place – 7pts 9th place – 2pts 5th place – 6pts 10th place – 1pt Ribbons will be awarded to 1st – 6th placegetters in all classes. Championships will be placed 1st to 6th and will be determined based on the points earned across the class e.g. points earned in both novice dressage tests are added together to determine the ranking. In Show Horse the points for 3 phases determine the championship ranking. “we like to make it easi” Proud sponsors of the Victorian State Interschool Championships 1300 732 267 Will feeds and recommends Prydes EasiFeed • EasiResult cooked muesli feed • EasiResponse - extruded cube 100% quality guaranteed - Australian made & owned CONTACT US: Head Office - 256 Quia Road (PO Box 632) Gunnedah NSW 2380 • P: 1300 732 267 Peter Pryde Managing Director Ph: 0429 208 521 Sammi Kilgour - Victoria Ph: 0438 493 620 Katie Classon - Tas/South Aust/Vic Ph: 0488 552 540 Visit: www.prydes.com.au Riders Rider Number Rider Name Horse Name School 1 Aaron Karp JACKO Bacchus Marsh Grammar 2 Abbey Mamers LYNLEA PANTOMIME Penbank 3 Abbey Mamers MANGROVE PARK GEORGIA Penbank 4 Abbey Martin BEAUPARC MELODY Braemar College 5 Abbey Turnbull JOHN BOY WALTON CLC (Catholic Ladies College) 6 Abbey Walsh TWINS QUANTUM Billabong High School 7 Abbie Mcdonald PEPPER Bacchus Marsh PS 8 Abby Mclean JAROSITE GRYFFINDOR Bacchus Marsh Grammar 9 Abby Plant BECKWORTH TALISMAN Haileybury 10 Adam Dalia QUINNY Boneo PS 11 Adelle Mahoney SIR BOSC Mornington Secondary College 12 Airlia Munn HOWARD HEART THROB Mortlake College 13 Airlia Munn SHAKE MY HAND Mortlake College 14 Aleisha Casey ROLLOVER BEETHOVEN Flinders Christian Community College 15 Alex Brennan WESTBURY PARK COLORADO Balcombe Grammar 16 Alex Syme CISCO BRASS RAZU Woodleigh School 17 Alexander Mitchell WANDEENPARK WARHORSE Haileybury 18 Alexandra Laker FAIRLIGHT ACRES SEBASTIAN Tocumwal Public School 19 Alice Darby NILTON SUNSHINE Hazelglen College 20 Alice Davies HOLLIE Ivanhoe Grammar School 21 Alice Knox WILLOW IN THE MIST Braemar College 22 Alice Taylor AMBERDOWNS ANZAC Braemar College 23 Alicia Brown ROYAL MASQUERADE Beaconhills College 24 Alicia Brown SILVER MIST Beaconhills College 25 Allana Adams SANLIRRA PREMONITION Kyabram P-12 College 26 Amber Balazs-ashman STANTON PARK HOUDINI Kardinia International College 27 Amber Shiel-jones HOPELESS ROMANTIC Tintern Schools 28 Amelia Coad PEPPERDENE POM POP Haileybury 29 Amelia Gilling BOLAGAMY TRISTAM Hamilton and Alexandra College 30 Amelia Sadler VIEW BANK BOYD Kardinia International College 31 Amelia Sutton GENTEEL MISCHIEF ABOVE Kardinia International College 32 Amelia Walker DEAKIN Toorak College 33 Amelia Williams OUTLAW Billanook College 34 Amie Hourigan BOO T LICIOUS Galen Catholic College 35 Amina Mahmoud WATERFORD HARBOUR Mentone Girls Secondary Girls College 36 Amy Bachmann HERITAGE PARK CHARTREUSE Bendigo South East College 37 Amy Gotts - wheeler SHARVALLEY AMAZING Beaconhills College 38 Anastasia Minter TONTO The Kilmore International School 39 Anikka Dalton UHAVTA JACKPOT Christian College Geelong 40 Anna Tibbits KP PLAYBOYS REFLECTION Apollo Bay P-12 College 41 Annabel Cator JAYBEE CASTILLE Methodist Ladies College 42 Annabel Mould BARELY A GLASS Hamilton and Alexandra College 43 Annabelle Dickson KIRREWAY GIFTED Emmanuel College 44 Annie Creed OLYMPUS Emmanuel College 45 Annie Shea BUBBLES Marian College - Ararat 46 Arabella Balazs-ashman TUDOR PARK STARS Kardinia International College 47 Arielle Stella FAIR LIGHT ACRES TIGGER Highton PS 48 Arienne Holdsworth-rose CALYPSO Sacred Heart PS - Yea 49 Asha Kelly BRILLIANT LEGACY Mortlake College 50 Asha Kelly ESB IRISH INNOCENCE Mortlake College 51 Ashleigh Forehan BROOKLYN ELUSIVE St Marys PS Bairnsdale 52 Ashleigh Forehan TALKN ALL THAT JAZZ St Marys PS Bairnsdale 53 Ashleigh Grant LINDFIELD JOSEPHINE Arthurs Creek PS 54 Ashleigh Winter FAIRLEIGH ROCHER Little River PS 55 Ava Braniff RHYL TOP HAT Panton Hill PS 56 Ava Halloran GEM PARK SOCIALITE Christian College Geelong 57 Ava Kennedy JETTS CHIEF Boneo PS 58 Avril Charman PJ Narre Warren North PS 59 Bella Butterworth CHIPPENHAM CITATION Mansfield Secondary College 60 Bella Plumridge JAAMON LILLYPUT St Marys Catholic Mt Evelyn 61 Bella Warner HIS HIGHNESS OF ASTRAL Toorak College 62 Ben Peterson WOODY Bacchus Marsh Grammar 63 Beth Gleeson CHESTER PARK BLACK ICE Mansfield Secondary College 64 Beth Rowley CHILLI FACTOR New Gisborne PS 66 Bianca Karp EXCHANGE RATE Bacchus Marsh Secondary College KEEP YOUR HORSES KOOL NO W MA INTRO DE PVC DUCIN G STA BLE AUSS IE ITE MS Introducing a revolutionary product specifically designed to aid in the withdrawal of heat from horse legs. Riders The Victorian Eventing Squads consist of Pryde’s Senior Squad and The Equissage Young Rider Squad. Squad days throughout the year support the continued development of riders in the sport in the three disciplines. Top coaches and subject matter experts develop young riders whilst providing a supportive and social network. The Dressage of the Young Rider Program provides opportunities and a supportive environment for all riders to demonstrate potential and the chance to develop and improve their standard of riding. Young Riders will be encouraged to become ambassadors for Victorian Dressage and embrace the spirit of teamwork and good sportsmanship. The Hygain Jumping Victoria Junior/ YR Squad is open to our Junior & Young Riders. The State Squad is selected each year and is comprised of approximately 20 riders. There are three further groups selected as Development Squads so some 100 riders are involved. Keep a record of your performances for the season, as selection is performance based. The value of these squads is reflected in the results achieved by squad members past and present. Squads are also important for building solid friendships and support networks that families develop, and it has demonstrated itself to be an extremely effective system for developing our horses. There are opportunities to represent Victoria at interstate and international competition through these squads. Show Horse coaching clinics are held throughout the year, these clinics are open to all EV members and are a great way to get involved. These clinics offer highly qualified instructors as well as lunchtime presentations from horse health professionals. Whatever your equestrian goals are, we believe our clinics will offer you new skills whilst providing the opportunity to experience world-class instruction at an affordable price. More information can be found under the Sport Disciplines on the EV Website, or contact the coordinator of each discipline to find out how you can be involved. It is to honour the best all round rider and to encourage young riders to try many aspects of riding. The lucky winner of this award has his/her name inscribed on the Perpetual Trophy and receives an inscribed plaque to keep. Nan McArthur was a keen equestrienne who rode in the mid 1900’s. Horses were always an integral part of her life, she was even driven to school in a buggy! She competed at many horse events and would go from Hacking Classes to Hunting Classes (a precursor to modern Show Jumping) and then onto Games. She won Champion Hunter and Champion Pony at Melbourne Royal for several years. She also hunted with Findon Harriers and the Yarra Glen and Lilydale Hounds. She had a particular love of Clydesdales as her Father, Abraham Kellet, used to breed them and used them for carting for Fosters, delivering their beer to pubs around Melbourne. In her later years she raced horses and her particular passion was steeple chasing. She never missed a Melbourne or Sydney Royal and attended them both right up to the end of her life. She valued the pleasure horses gave to their riders and owners and the wonderful friendships made and times had at equestrian events and competitions. This Trophy is to value that spirit. This year each school will have one team only regardless of the number of riders, the top four individual rider’s scores are considered for the school aggregate score. If a rider has more than one horse, then each is treated as a separate combination for point scoring and only the highest score for the rider will count. The rider/horse combination best four scores count for individual and school team awards. Racing Victoria Off the Track Award Racing Victoria sponsor the best performed retired racehorse in the disciplines of dressage, show jumping, eventing, combined training, show horse and games/handymount. Leading Boy Rider This award is designed to recognise boys who compete across all disciplines. This award will be awarded to the leading primary and secondary rider across the week. The prize will be a trophy for each category. Good Luck Boys!
