The budget contains a second tax cut in three years with a tax rate of 52.6 cents per $100 of assessed value, down from 53.1 cents in 2015. That tax rate also marks the fourth flat or reduced rate in the last six years. When you consider the fact we have enhanced and improved our services to residents and are putting some of the final touches on our new municipal building on Route 33 to improve those services even further, I really cannot imagine a better budget. Tip of the cap to Business Administrator Joy Tozzi and Township Chief Financial Officer Debbie Bauer, along with Township Council, for its recent adoption. **** The Robbinsville Farmers’ Market returns on Tuesday, June 7 (3 p.m.) at its new location behind the new municipal building. Patrons and merchants can enter via Union Street … Community Day will be held on Saturday, June 11 from 2-9 p.m. at Community Park. This year also will feature our 1st Annual Green Fair from 2-6 p.m. … The R*MAPSA Father’s Day Fishing Derby is on Sunday, June 19. Come on out to West Town Center Lake and enjoy a technology-free day of fishing and fun with the whole family. Great work by the Recreation Division putting together all of those terrific events for our community to enjoy. Sign up with either Ed Drago or Kathy Whitaker 3 IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE ROBBINSVILLE TAX OFFICE PTR Blue booklets for the 2015 Senior Freeze have been mailed * please note: the form for calculating the tax amount has changed, so bring this to the tax collector for verification and the official stamp required on that page. Flyer with 2015 Income requirements are attached to the newsletter. The deadline for residents to file their 2015 Senior Freeze (PTR) applications has been extended to Oct. 17, 2016. Original deadline June 1st. HOMESTEAD BENEFIT (FOR HOMEOWNERS) If there are any questions call 1-888-238-1233 (8:30-5:30 p.m.) Monday through Friday no Holidays. This is a State Program and not run by the local Tax office. To file applications online: www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/ relief.shtml **IMPORTANT: Homestead benefits for the year 2013 ( yes 2013) will be taken off of the 2nd quarter property tax due on May 1, 2016. A revised stub for that quarter has been mailed. Use the BLUE stub payment and NOT the GREEN and WHITE one mailed last July. Questions call: 1-888-238-1233 SENIOR TAX FREEZE (PTR) forms The Tax Collector will not have the forms available for residents in the Tax Office. PTR forms dropped off at the Tax Collectors office, will be ready on Friday of that week. Forms dropped off on Friday will be ready the following Friday. Please provide a SASE and it will be mailed back to you when complete. The current Tuesday exercise class is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24July 5, 2016 2:00-3:00 p.m. (N0 class June 7) The Friday exercise class is sched- uled May 27, - July 1, 2016. 9:30-10:30 a.m. The cost of the class is $10.00 ($20.00 non-residents) . Residents ma drop off any unused or excess medications anonymously-24 hours a day seven days a week. The drop box also protects New Jersey environment by keeping these drugs out of landfills and water supply.
