1. RJ45 Network Interface: Connect to a router or switch on your network
using RJ45 Ethernet cable (Cat5e or better). 100Mhz connection. PoE
supported (class 3 PoE switch required).
2. Audio Input (RCA): Connect to a self-powered microphone for listen-in
audio.
3. Audio Output (RCA): Connect to an amplifier or self-powered speaker
for intercom/2-way audio.
4. DC12V: 12V DC power input terminal. Make sure to follow correct polarity
(+/-) marked on the power connector when connecting to power.
5. Coupler: Marries RJ45 cable to connector 1 for joining RJ45-RJ45.
All cameras except the Box will be supplied with this coupler device.
Alternative cables can have RS485 + - and Alarm terminals. (model dependent)
Product Connections (in use)
1. To run network IP camera is best to use a PoE switch such as below:
PoE is simplest method to connect IP cameras, as you get instant results
on power good connections and network activity. And also to save
installation costs not having to run additional power / PSU units etc..
2. Use suitable Cat5e or Cat6 cable connect one end to the PoE and other
to the coupler, and lastly connect to the camera cable RJ45 connector.
3. Check status of LEDs on PoE for indication all is working. Consult your
PoE switch manual for LED status lights. Cameras also have LED status
lights inside or externally. Take notes of locations.
You may notice the camera cable set is a RJ45 and you can indeed connect directly to the PoE switch for
testing purposes. Note: The short length of cable so whilst can be used we recommend to use patch cables.

Search For Device (Need to Know)
You can use various methods to connect / search to the device when
connected. The following lists key points to remember.
Factory reset is found by locating the button on camera, each camera has a
location which can be easily noticed, if in doubt consult the user guide, the
reset location diagram is provided in last few pages of the manuals. Holding
the little black button for 5seconds whilst camera is powered activate reset.
Reset does put camera back to factory defaults including clearing all settings
previously set on camera. Useful when product is re-stocked at warehouse.
Search For Device (UPnP)
Now camera is in a sate in which can be discovered using all the following:
Remember Username and Password factory defaults are: admin / admin
Search For Device (Bonjour (hello!))
MAC systems do not use UPnP discovery and so if only an Apple system is
available then it will make sure of the Bonjour service. This discovery is this
found from within Safari web browser application.

Search For Device (Onvif)
Whilst all supplied tools are readily available, it is important to understand the
cameras are Onvif compliant. Any such applications, or NVR device with Onvif
will also discover the camera(s).

Note: CD has some guides for using 3rd party CMS Applications.
Search For Device (Advanced)
As an aid to diagnostics and also for an insight onto how IP cameras are
communicating, there is free to download wireshark software from
www.wireshark.org
This is supports both windows and MAC systems.
Network Traffic
Wireshark captures network traffic.
Note: Should only be used to aid problem solving.
