Welcome to
the new Whitney
2015 marks the opening of the
Whitney’s new building designed
by world-renowned architect
Renzo Piano. Located in the heart
of Manhattan’s lively Meatpacking
District, the new Whitney is a
spectacular space to experience
and enjoy the Museum’s
unparalleled collection of modern
and contemporary American art.
Among its many exciting features,
the new building will include two
gallery floors entirely devoted to
the Whitney’s collection, cascading
outdoor terraces overlooking New
York’s cityscape, a state-of-the-art,
170-seat theater with floor-to-ceiling
views of the Hudson River, and
Danny Meyer’s restaurants, Untitled
and Studio Cafe.
