Home Visits






School Visits
More than 35 home visits done in this month.
The objective is to verify the existing data
and update in case of requirement for
documentation.
Also keep track of the released parents and
their occupation.
update parents about child’s academic
progress and plan assistance accordingly,
Get update about remedial educators and
their students and make payment accordingly.
Also visiting local schools and meeting the
teacher/tutors for first hand information
about child’s academic progress.





All residential schools visited and all the hostel
children met and their update taken from personal
interaction as well as from hostel warden as well as
school teachers
Two of the mothers accompanied IVF staff to
Sanjoepuram School.
Both mothers met their daughters along with other
children. Progress of their children made them very
happy.
Hostel warden shared some concerns for which due
counseling and advice given to the individual child.
Donor’s visit to schools also facilitated.
Visit from Markit Women Forum
Counseling Girls from NILM University on behavioral and attitudinal issues:
After some issues related to the improper behavior of the CVF girls came into front they were called to the office
and counseled accordingly. Even parent, guardians were present in this meeting and all agreed to set a good
example for others to follow.

GURGAON PRISON PROJECT
All activities were carried out in the project.




Jute making: Male inmates made 47 file folders on order for prison authorities.
Greeting Card Unit: Bamboo stick greeting cards delivered on time for Mr. Asheem Mohan, one of the project
patrons.
Dance Group: New dance form learned and performed before session judge who appreciated their hard work.
Mason Training: Theory part of the training is in final phase and soon practical sessions will be carried out by
Ambuja Foundation.

Female Ward:
Chocolate making unit delivered an order of making
565 chocolate boxes from Cox & Kings Company.
Also they delivered 80 boxes for Prison officials on
time. This helped many inmates to learn chocolate
making as well as those trained were able to guide
the new ones into perfection.
Jute production: Shiv, Pooja, Sushma and Soniya continued their jute product making activity and made
products which were later on displayed in the stall at Apollo Munich Company for Diwali sale along with other
products.
Creche: Presently there are 18 children in the Crèche, out of which nearly 8 are in the age group of 3 to 5
years, while 6 children are above the age of 5 years.

Festivals in the crèche
 GANDHI JAYANTI
Children told about GANDHI JAYANTI. They were made
to sing “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram” and toffees
distributed to the children.
 NAVRATRA CELEBRATION
As a part of tradition Pooja of Maa Durga organized .
The statue of Maa Durga was established in Creche and
the Children and the Creche Staff performed Aarti daily
in the morning and evening. On the last Navratra special
food of Halva poori Sabji served to the children.
 DUSSEHRA
After children were made to color the picture of God
Rama, Lakshman and Ravan, story of God Ram told to
the children.

DIWALI CELEBRATION:
All The Creche Staff and the Children Celebrated Diwali with Dr Kiran Bedi, Chairperson, IVF and G4S Officials- Mr.
Neel Prasad, Ms Rinku, Principal and the staff of Kid Zee School. Children lighted candles with the honorable
guests after they had said their prayer and recited many rhymes. Games were played and gifts and sweets were
distributed.
Birthday of the Month
:”:
Birthday of Annu, Kashish, Sunaina, Rehan and Komal
celebrated along with their mothers, crèche staff and
other children. After pooja Cake was cut and
distributed to all. The gifts were given to the Birthday
Children.
Sports Day
Keeping in mind the physical growth and the importance of
physical exercise for the children they were made to play
different games like Bowling, Racing etc. and the winners
were also awarded for the same.
Participation
Sports Day was celebrated at Yamuna
Sports Complex in Surajmal Vihar that was organized by KID
ZEE. Eight Tihar Creche children participated in different
events and three of them won prizes. Gold medal was won by
Tanya, Silver Medal by Rahul while Riya won the Bronze
Medal. The exposure helped to infuse confidence and
sportsmanship amongst the children and made them happy with
the outing.

Mothers meet
Mothers were informed about the importance of the
health and nutrition. Various games were displayed for
the mothers and they were shown the activities done
by the children in this month. Biscuits race performed
in the presence of the mothers. The children had won
prize in the sports day organized by Kid Zee.

Sampark sabha
Group counseling was held by the IVF staff with the
mothers of the children about day to day problems of
their children and solutions were offered to their
problems.

Ward sabha
IVF staffs visited ward no 6 and children ward. Topic of
this month was Health. Mothers educated about how
to take prescribed medicines. Stress on personal
hygiene was done. Benefits of yoga explained.
KHUSHI:
Transforming lives: A Case Study of Success
She came two years back with her grandmother. Since she was above the age of five years so after few months
she was taken under CVF Project by IVF after the consent of her grandmother and sent to the hostel, Assisi
Convent. But it was found that Khushi could not speak properly with other children as well as the hostel staff.
Also she looked scared in the hostel and was sick and withdrawn. So when she came to the prison during her
vacation she did not go back. But she started attending Crèche and slowly got adjusted with the children as well
as staff. She is happy now and ready to be sent to the hostel. Both Khushi and her grandmother are looking
forward to a new beginning!!!!!!!
AVNEET
Three years old Avneet was born after her pregnant mother gave birth to this lovely girl inside the jail itself. She
would always cry whenever her mother brought her to Crèche when she was more than six months. But her
mother continued bringing her to Crèche and the staff persisted with making her comfortable. Slowly she
started mixing up with the children and staff and is very happy to learn and play. In fact she does not want to go
to her ward even after the crèche is over!
Weaving Behind Bars Project
DIWALI CELEBRATION
All the weavers and the staff of WBB celebrated DIWALI
with visitors from G4’s officials, Principal of KIDZEE
school and Chairperson of the foundation.
Other Celebrations:
The project joined Creche children and staff in all the
other celebrations and
Staff meeting
They want to learn stitching and requested for a new
sewing machine.
Weavers meeting
They want certificate of their training. Six weavers
identified who want to study and so their classes started
with a teacher and also gave them stationary for writing.
We identified three special categories of women –
1. Best weaver of the year Ms Teena
2. Most laborious women Smt. Roop Shree
3. Most punctual women Smt Krishna
Sports Day
Games like jumping the rope and balloon game
organized. These activities make the women fresh and
rejuvenated.
Storytelling
As part of this activity one person read one chapter of Sai
Charita and the others listen to the same. All the ladies
then discuss on the moral values described in the story.
Meera Raj Kumar
Meera came in jail in 2007 in a murder case. She has three children. When she came to jail she came to know
about IVF and its activities and projects. She showed interest to learn weaving in 2007 in the Weaving Behind
Bars Project and since then she has been working in this project. Her hard work and dedication earned her the
job of supervisor of WBB Project in 2012.Today Meera is an example to many other inmates for a positive
transformation.
