Moving on to summer fun; keep an eye on our website,
OKCskiclub.org, for scheduled activities. We’ve been
known to go bowling, hiking, on a float trip and who
knows what else.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you
that we are a non-profit, social organization and are
able to fully function only when our members sign
up for trips. So, tell a friend or two about how much
fun we have and even if they don’t ski, the opportunity to travel at such great rates with such awesome
people is a treat!
Keep in touch.
it with the world! When you are passionate about
something, what should you do? Share it with the
world!
The summer calendar is filling up and will be released soon…another great opportunity to share
your passion for the ski club. Thanks for an amazing year and stay tuned!

Successful Season
T he snow has melted and the sun is shining, but
don’t be sad. I’m sure you have plenty of memories
and stories from your trips to remember. All of our
trips were a success this year and we look forward to
next year being even better.
The Winter Wake Party was a good time as it always
is. We enjoyed the company of our fellow snow bunnies, played washers, shuffleboard, ate, drank and told
stories.
Have a great summer and above all THINK SNOW!!!!!

Last trip of the Season
C opper Mountain 2015
Thirty OKC Ski Club members boarded the Village Bus
for Copper Mountain. Everyone was on time and we
actually left Will Rogers parking lot early. It had snowed
in Colorado, Thursday evening, so we were excited about
having some fresh power. The trip was uneventful and
we arrived at Copper around 7 AM. Once we checked
into our change rooms, it was off to the ski slopes. We
couldn’t ask for better weather. The runs were awesome
and had a great base so we didn’t have to worry about
rocks or obstacles in the way. (maybe a snow snake) once
in awhile.
Talk about last minute plans, Quentin and Janice Danser signed up for the trip three days before we left, and
had their son fly in from New York to meet them. They
pulled it off and had a great time with him.
Easter Sunday was bright and sunny. Copper Mt held
an Easter Egg hunt for the children. Linda Wells, Dolores Hopeman, Myself, Kathy Evans, Melanie Light and
Kim Sparks dressed up to celebrate the occasion. Bruce
Berry was very lucky and won some new ski’s. He had
been skiing on some really old ones so was very pleased
to receive some new ones. Janie Hlinicky brought her
granddaughter Kanyon and they enjoyed skiing together.
Ginger Parker joined them for a fun day. Evan Taylor
brought his 6 year old son Andrew and his dad, Arnold.
Andrew learned to snowboard and Arnold just toured
around and took pictures. Their friend, Kevin O’Brien,
also joined them on the trip. Rubin Salinas, Harry
Dorsey, Chase Weeks, Jake Page, Craig DeYoung and
John Coxs enjoyed the Copper Bowls. Nilgun Sezgin,
Kelly Griffin, Bill Pfeiff, and Bruce Berry were cruising
the groomed runs. A group of our people attended the
Sunday services on the mountain.
Monday was another great day on the Mountain. The
weather was wonderful, it was sunny and warm.
Charlie and myself headed to Vail for the day so didn’t
get to ski with any of the group. Pam Perry hooked up
with Kathy Evans and they had a blast. Andrew Kleek
also joined them. Frank Evans and Elias Walters were
spotted on the mountain enjoying the day. Monday evening was the wine and cheese party. What a good time
we had. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Heard that Steve Schardien was the perfect roomie.
Fixed breakfast every morning for his condo. We should
have all been a part of that.
Tuesday was our last day to ski. Everyone had to pack
up as we had to do a change room. Check out was at 10
AM, but if we called the front desk and the room wasn’t
rented, we could stay until noon. We had to pay extra
to keep one room to change in, but we had to be out by 2
PM. Everyone was so great about it.
Charlie pulled the bus up a little bit early and we left
Copper about 3 PM instead of the planned 3:30 PM. We
stopped to pick up pizza in Denver on the way back and
arrived at the Will Rogers Parking lot about 5:20 AM
Wed. morning.
Want to thank everyone for joining me on the Copper
trip. You were ALL great. If it hadn’t been for our Texas
buddies, this trip wouldn’t have made it.
What to mention all the new members: Evan Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Arnold Taylor, Kevin O’Brien, Pam Perry,
Bruce Berry, Bill Pfeiff, Andrew Kleek, Ginger Parker,
John Cox, and Jake Page. It was great meeting all of you
and hope you had a fun time and you need to plan to
come back for a trip next year.

Rip to the 2014-2015 Ski Season. What a great
season it was!
The ski club will begain planning for the
2015-2016 season in may. Would love
any suggestions for places you might
want to go to.
Please remember for each new member you get
to sign up, you get a $25.00 certificate to be used
on the trip of your choice during the ski season.
(New members are someone who has not been a
member within the past 5 years).
The fiscal year for the ski club ends April 30th.
Memberships for the new 2015-2016 season are due
May 1, 2015.
Membership forms can be submitted online via the
website, www.okcskiclub.org, with payment done
thru Pay-pal or a copy printed and mailed along
with a check to:
OKC Ski Club
P.O. Box 54912
Oklahoma City, OK 73154-1912
Dues are:

or married persons who would like to take a guest
on trips. In other words, on one trip you can take
a spouse (they are essentially acting as a guest)
and then on a different trip, you can take your best
friend or neighbor, girlfriend, etc. It’s a great way to
introduce new members to the club.
Membership forms will also be available at the
General meetings.

to visit about it if you have an idea.
Have a Happy Spring
Well, skiing and snow boarding are a sweet memory
now. Wasn’t it fun? Each year I think, well, maybe I
won’t go on as many trips next season (I’m retired).
Then as the season approaches and I remember all the
good times with my “snow” family, I start rethinking.
We are so fortunate to have this great club and to have
the fine folks to take on the jobs of putting together a
new season. As I have said before, it is a labor of love
to volunteer time and hours to make this organization
a go. Anytime you want to become a part of this “putting together” of a ski/ snowboard season, please come
forward, you are needed!
Have a safe and happy summer!
