Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre offers a dynamic and progressive medical
team of more than 280 skilled physicians, 2,300 caring staff members and 1,100
dedicated volunteers providing outstanding healthcare in a variety of areas
including; surgical services, critical care, women and children’s programs, and
mental health rehabilitation. The recent completion of a $450-million expansion
project doubled the size of the hospital and added specialized cancer care service
through the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.
Partnered with the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine, RVH offers a Family
Medicine Teaching Unit, which is the last stop for medical residents training to
become family doctors. Barrie is a leader in provided integrated family health
services through the Barrie and Community Family Health Team. This growing
