Zesty Bordermania Instructions
SIDE-BY-SIDE BORDERS
To use the side-by-side technique, lay 2 pieces side-by-side with the straight edges
touching, and “tape” together with a photo split overlapping both pieces. Full size
borders will need 5 photo splits, and smaller borders will use 3. DO NOT REMOVE
PHOTO SPLIT BACKING.
Southwest
Pieces – 1 narrow orange strip,
1 pyramid teal strip,
1 brown rickrack
Stickers – Zesty Geometrics block
Tape orange and teal strips together. Cover with the brown rickrack. Apply zesty triangles stickers
to points of pyramid strip. Black
pen.
Watering Can
Pieces – 1 narrow green strip,
1 regular royal blue strip,
1 brown rickrack
Stickers – Happenings sun/rain &
watering can, GL ivy/birdhouses
Tape green and royal strips together. Cover seam with brown
rickrack. Apply stickers as shown.

Pieces – 1 small teal rectangle,
1 gold short narrow strip,
1 cranberry rickrack
Stickers – Happenings birthday cake
Cut gold rectangle in ½ to make short narrow
strips. Tape small teal rectangle and gold
narrow strip together and trim. Cover seam
with cranberry rickrack and trim. Apply stickers as shown. Black pen.
Pansies
Pieces – 1 chamois regular strip,
1 purple pyramid, 1 evergreen rickrack
Stickers – GL pansy, GL ivy (birdhouse strip)
Tape chamois strip and purple pyramid together. Cover seam with evergreen rickrack.
Trim ivy into 4 pieces and arrange on pansy
GL. Apply to strip as shown. Evergreen pen.
Cameras
Pieces – 1 cranberry pyramid, 1 royal pyramid, 1 black rickrack. Stickers – Variety cameras
Tape pyramid strips together, cover seam with black rickrack. Apply stickers.
Dolphin
Pieces – 1 regular orange strip, 1 narrow gold strip, 1 royal rickrack, dolphin/octopus die cut
Stickers – GL grass/water. Tape orange and gold strips together and cover seam with royal rickrack. Apply die cuts, and splash stickers.
Birthday Clown
Pieces – 1 blue gingham strip, 1 gold wave, 1 royal pyramid, 1 red clown die cut. Stickers – Variety balloons (primary). Tape blue gingham strip and gold wave together, cover seam with straight
edge of Pyramid strip. Mount clown die cut and apply stickers. Black pen.

Tape cranberry wave just under the edge of gold strip. Apply stickers. Navy pen.

Pieces – 1 teal regular strip, 1 gold wave, 1 purple wave, raspberry hearts die cut
Stickers – Happenings Valentine. Tape gold and purple under each edge of teal strip. Mount
die cuts, and apply stickers. Black pen.
Mardi Gras
Pieces – 1 gold regular strip, 1 purple wave, 1 green wave. Stickers – Happenings, bright
balloons & bright confetti . Tape purple and green waves on top edges of gold strip. Apply
stickers. Black pen.
Buttons

Tape teal wave to back edge of gold strip. Apply GL stickers along opposite side and position button and dot stickers randomly. Black pen

Tape zigzag to edge of brown strip
and position die cut snowflake at
top and middle of strip.

Tape green zigzag along edge of narrow purple strip. Apply stickers. Black pen.

Tape zigzag on top of pyramid strip (may have to flip zigzag around to get the right look). Apply die cuts and stickers.

Tape green pyramid on top of raspberry strip with
points facing inward. Apply stickers (cut watermelon
in ½). Black pen

Tape purple zigzag along one edge of pink strip.
Apply stickers. Silver pen.
Thanksgiving zigzag
Pieces – 1 cinnamon pyramid,
1 evergreen regular strip
Stickers – GL fall (Season to season pack)
Tape cinnamon pyramid to top edge of evergreen
strip. Apply GL vine to cinnamon pyramid and other
stickers as shown. Gold pen.
TRIANGLES
Southwest Triangle
Pieces – 1 orange square, 1 teal rickrack, 1 brown wave
Stickers – Zesty block
Cut orange square from corner to corner to make 2 triangles. Set one triangle aside. Tape brown wave & teal
rickrack to 1 triangle. Apply stickers. Black pen.
Winter triangles
Pieces – 1 brown square
Stickers – GL winter
Cut brown square into 2 triangles. Cut snowflake
GL in ½ and apply along long edges of both triangles. Draw curly Q’s and add remaining stickers. Silver pen.
Summer triangles
Pieces – 1 green square
Stickers GL grass/water
Cut green square into 2 triangles. Apply flower stickers near bottom of triangles, then overlap grass GL along
the edge and trim. Accent with butterf l i e s .
Fall squirrels
Pieces – 1 cinnamon square, 1 orange triangle,
1 evergreen zigzag
Stickers – Happenings rake/leaves, GK fall
Cut cinnamon square into 2 triangles, and cut orange triangle in ½. Tape evergreen zigzag along long edge of
each triangle. Centre small orange triangle on each cinnamon triangle. Apply stickers. Gold pen.
Spring triangles
Pieces – 1 evergreen square,
1 cinnamon rickrack
Stickers – Happenings sunflowers,
GL grass/water (Day to day pack)
Cut evergreen square into 2 triangles, and tape
cinnamon rickrack along long edge of each triangle. Apply stickers. Gold pen.
MISCELLANEOUS PIECES
Black/Red lace
Pieces – 1 narrow black strip, 1 small cranberry rectangle, 1 small black rectangle
Stickers – GL laser cut lace, block laser cut lace/hearts
Cut black rectangle into 3 - 1 ¼”x1 ¼” squares and cut red rectangle into 1 – 1 ¼”x1 ¼”
square (set aside 2 remaining black squares). Apply lace GL along edge of narrow strip. Apply lace hearts to 1 black square and 1 red square. Position squares on narrow black strip.

Summer picnic

Stickers – GL summer picnic
Tape royal wave along top edge of gold strip. Apply stickers.

between journal box and edge of rectangle, mount
green zigzag then gold rickrack on top of zigzag (flip
rickrack to get the right look). Trim. Apply stickers.

Stickers – Happenings sun hat
Starting at left of rectangle, mount royal wave,
green rickrack (trim) then journal box. Trim any
extra rectangle to right of journal box. Apply
sticker.

Stickers – Variety bright balloons
Cover die cut frame with journal box, and apply stickers. Black pen.

and trim off extra teal. Apply stickers. Black
