THE CHAT - Nipomo Chamber of Commerce
THE CHAT The objectives of the Nipomo Chamber of Commerce shall be to promote the civic, economic, agricultural, educational, & social welfare of Nipomo. Jan 2014 President’s Message: Welcome 2014! As the incoming Nipomo Chamber of Commerce President I want to first and foremost say thank you to Rudy and Kat Stowell for their service. The Stowell family truly epitomizes the best of what I feel Nipomo is all about; that is selfless service, a sense of community and the willingness to go above and beyond. Kat is leaving us this year as a Board Director and will be sorely missed as she continues her great work with the Ambassador Team. Rudy will continue to serve as the Immediate Past President while assuming the duties as Director of the Dana Adobe Board. Again I want to thank Kat and Rudy for their outstanding and continued support of our community. This year promises to be an exciting one with many continued improvements and programs initiated by your Chamber. First is the opening of our new office at 239 West Tefft Street in Olde Towne. In the next few months expect to see a new sign installed that will further identify our new building not only as the Chamber of Commerce and Nipomo Area Recreation Association offices but also as the South County Visitors Center. Our vision is to create a warm and friendly environment welcoming visitors to the place where the Central Coast Starts. Outside seating, informational brochures and maps, as well as a full service conference room are but a few of the amenities that we will be making available to the general public in the near future. Nipomo Chamber President Richard Malvarose Nipomo Chamber of Commerce Email: info@nipomochamber.org 239 W. Tefft St. Nipomo, CA 93444 805/929-1583 Fax: 805/929-5835 Amber Wilson Executive Director Expect to see continued improvement in the services and support that we, The Chamber, provide to our members through the use of our chamber website and social media pages; continued integration with the various organizations in Nipomo including but not limited to the Rotary Club of Nipomo, Olde Towne Nipomo Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nipomo Community Services District, South County Advisory Council and our 4th District Supervisor Ms. Caren Ray. These initiatives are an important part of what the Chamber stands for in order to promote the civic, economic, agricultural, educational and social welfare of Nipomo. Some of you know me and many do not so here is my introduction. I was born and raised in Santa Maria, graduated from SMHS in ’84 and joined the Army in ’87 after attending Allan Hancock. After 24 years of service I retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Four, moved back to my favorite place on Earth and married my beautiful, smart and successful High School sweetheart the former Diane Bolding. Together we serve on the Chamber Board and are the owners of Nipomo Properties Real Estate and Central Coast Property Management. I don’t profess to be an expert on small business nor do I claim to have the sense of humor that my predecessor is known for. I did however pick up a few things along the way that I strongly believe make businesses and communities successful. They are Service Before Self, Teamwork and Commitment. Giving back to your community in its various forms is but one way to ensure the continued success of those around you. Only as a team we can continue to maintain and improve our way of life on the Central Coast. Finally the Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping you make your business the best it can be. My personal cell phone number is (805) 868-7951. Please consider this your Small Business Hotline in the future. If you have an issue or need support call me and if I don’t know the answer we will get you in touch with someone who does. The Central Coast Starts Here!
