Whether this is your first product you have ever bought online or
your 100th, the step by step process in here, if followed WILL bring
you results.
Like anything else, if you stick to something till the end THAT is
where you will get your results from.
This is usually where I give you this huge pep talk about sticking to
it, keeping the faith etc.
Well, that was my pep talk.
DO THIS.
Build out your first site.
You will see how easy it is.
What do you need for this?
Not much.
Just the ability to follow a simple set of instructions.
So what exactly are we building here?
‘Coupon Directory Sites’
"WHAT?"
Yes, you are getting a blueprint that can be scaled as wide and deep
as you want to.
We are going to be focusing on one tiny little corner of the coupon
niche, but this is a LIMITLESS niche, for various reasons that I will
cover shortly.
If you have Wicked Simple Cash (the first version) and/or Wicked
Simple Domination you are already ahead of everyone else. They are
former WSO's of mine that are now closed.
Well, I am putting together the best of both of them with new
information on how to leverage all of the information into
unstoppable sites that Google couldn't resist even if they wanted to.
Authority site style!
We are not providing actual coupons for the sites. We are
monetizing with Adsense. There are several affiliate programs
for coupons, but for this WSO, Adsense is our goal!
Off to our attack plan...
We are going to lay the foundation for a site that is both wide AND
deep. Eventually this site will reach ‘authority status’.
Basically like this site here – http://1fastfoodcoupon.com/
I personally have a connection to the owner of that site, and let me
just say that the amount made is STAGGERING.
So, we are starting off with a general coupon domain so we can be
very diverse in our site.
Like restaurant coupons. Or clothing coupons. Electronics. The list is
endless.
You can do this in any part of the coupon niche, but for the purpose
of this WSO, we will be choosing the fast food coupon niche.
Here is an example of a site we are building
http://fastfoodcouponstoprint.com/ (The site is a brand new site I
JUST built for this WSO.)
Simple.
Ugly?
You betcha’.
Just like we want it.
We don't overcomplicate it.
No need to.
I guarantee you, you start complicating this method, I will have a
site 100 pages deep while you are deciding on what picture to stick
in your post.
It's not because I have been building sites for 3+ years now.
It is because I know that over complicating things is NOT the way to
get stuff done ;)
Ok, so now we have our niche.
(If you didn’t pick up the OTO with the additional KW packs, do not
fret. All you need to do is type in coupon/coupons into the Google
KW tool and you can follow the exact steps in this outline in a
different sub-niche)
So what we need now is a domain.
I use GoDaddy.
Why?
Because.
That is my answer. It's just who I started with and they have never
given me ANY problems. 24/7 customer support is always there too.
Ok, so now we have our niche of fast food coupons.
Here is how I do my domain research.
I hit up Google’s KW tool.
Type in your root kw/niche and hit ‘search’.
Make sure you have the box ticked that says “Only show ideas
closely related to my search terms’
Also, I personally use phrase match. If you want to go broad or exact,
that is up to you. I personally use phrase.
Ok, now we have a list of kw’s, but this is how to quickly find out
what is available in GoDaddy.
So now you need to copy that list and see what domains are
available.
First we need to get rid of all the quote marks.
Download this free tool and I will walk you through it –
Keyword Pad
Ok, so now that you have that downloaded, here is a quick
rundown…
Now click on the Modify button and select the ‘Search and Replace’
option, and you will have a screen that will look like this. Click OK.
Now hit the ‘Export’ button and choose the ‘All To Clipboard’
option.
NOW we head over to GoDaddy…
Paste in the kw’s you have on your clipboard and tick the .com box
and hit GO.
Now you have a list of .com’s available to pick from. Feel free to
use .net or .org if the .com you want is not available.
Personally I stay away from .biz, .info etc.
You can also add a # to your domain name if one you REALLY want
is not available. This is better than adding dashes.
OK, so now you have your domain bought.
Next thing is hosting.
If you already know how to set up all this, you can scroll down a bit,
but I know sometimes the technical side to things is THE roadblock,
so here goes the cliff notes to setting up your hosting.
I personally ONLY use Hostgator, so that is what I will be showing
you here.
I would order the Baby Plan because if you decide to build out more
than one site (I hope you plan on it), then the Baby Plan is the way to
go.
As of the time of release of this WSO, using the code
1CENTCOUPONCODE will give you your first month of hosting
for only $0.01.
Now make sure you choose the one month at the top or you will
have a heart attack when you see the total. The default setting is for
one year, but you want to pay month to month especially if you are
just starting out.
So now you are going to receive an email from Hostgator with your
details on your hosting. This can take up to an hour or so, so be
patient. Or you can do like I do and click on the ‘live chat’ button
and ask them if they can expedite it for you ;)
In the email that you get, you will get something called your
nameservers. This is something we need to head back over to
GoDaddy and insert into our site information so when someone
types in our domain name, the search engines know where to find
your site.
Inside of GoDaddy, you will find your domain management tab.
HOVER over the button at the top that says ‘Domains’ and a menu
will come up.
In the bottom right corner, it will say Domain Management. Click on
that.
You will then be taken to a screen with all your domains on it. If this
is your first site, there will be just the one domain. Click on it and
you will be taken here –
HOVER OVER the Nameservers link there, and choose ‘Set
Nameservers’.
This screen will pop up.
Make sure you choose the ‘I have specific nameservers for my
domains’ option. Then take the two nameserver’s that came in the
email you got from Hostgator and paste them in the boxes.
Now it is time to stop for a second.
Take a breath.
In no time at all this will be second nature to you.
(yes, that was a small ‘pep talk’)
Ok, now to install your blog.
Easy peasy baby!
So with the email that you received from Hostgator, were your
cpanel logins.
Login to your cpanel using the username and password provided and
you will see a page like this –
Now I want you to scroll to the bottom of the page until you find a
button that is called Fantastico.
This button is your new best friend!
So click on the smiley face and you will be taken here –
Which will then take you here –
Fill in all the relevant information that pertains to your site. Click the
Install Wordpress button and you will be taken to one more page.
Hit the button that says, Finish Installing and you now have your
blog installed!
Fantastico makes this as painless as it can be.
Now to login to your new site this is what you type in-
http://YourDomain.com/wp-admin
This will bring you to this screen where you enter the information
that you used when you installed your blog.
Now it’s time to get into the meat of this. There are a few tweaks that
we need to do, but after this, then we start actually adding content to
the site.
Now that you are logged in to your dashboard of your blog, follow
this screenshot and this basically optimizes the url’s of your content.
Click Settings, then Permalinks, tick the Post name radio button and
make sure you hit the Save Changes button ;)
Time to pretty up your blog.
Let’s add in a new free theme.
http://www.techfeb.com/2011/06/top-wordpress-themes-for-adsenseearning/
Choose the Clearness theme-
In the left-hand side of your blog, click on the Appearance tab, then
Themes, Install Themes, Choose File, find the file on your computer,
then click Install Now.
It will then bring up a button that says Activate. Click it!
You now have the theme we are using. It is ugly but GREAT for an
Adsense theme.
Two minor details left.
Go to your posts tab and delete the ‘hello world’ post.
Then go to the pages tab and delete the ‘sample’ page.
(Trust me when I say the process you JUST went thru you can do in
about 10 minutes once you do a few of these.)
So now you have a fresh site with a keyword rich domain, so this
begs the next question, “NOW WHAT?”
Ha.
This is where we have several choices.
Again, I am going to decide for you.
If this is your first site, go with what I am showing you.
If this is not your first rodeo, and already have your process down,
feel free to tweak things a bit.
What you want to do is write one 'general article' on fast food
coupons or whatever niche you have decided to go with. Go ahead
and look at my site http://fastfoodcouponstoprint.com/ and get an
idea.
DON'T just copy and paste my article. This defeats the purpose of
what we are doing here.
Using 100% unique content here will put you heads above your
competition.
Now what we do is make this page 'static'.
Click on the Settings tab in the left hand sidebar, then Reading, tick
the A static page (select below) button, then choose the page that you
just wrote.
Now that we have that page on your blog, this is where we do a little
trick.
There is more than one reason we are targeting coupons for this
project. This will work in any coupon niche because people not only
search for coupons by name, but also by date.
The year, 2012 already is in the date stamps of your blog, so by
default you will pick up long tailed traffic just by that alone.
If you decide to sprinkle it in your content now and again, watch
how fast you get found for date specific kw’s.
What we are going to do is sneak in the months of the year onto
every page of our site by adding them to the sidebar of our blog.
People actually search coupons not only by year, but by date as well.
This is how we add this to our blog –
Click Appearance, Widgets and when you get to the screen, drag the
Text box (circled in red) and drag it all the way to the right hand
sidebar.
Click on the arrow on the bar and paste this into your text boxJanuary - February - March - April - May - June - July - August -
September - October - November – December
Don’t forget to hit save ;)
Now, by the years end, you are already ahead of the game. (we will
get into this later, but by building backlinks early in the year even
before the date of the coupons being searched, we are ahead of the
competition ;)
(Here is another tip – throw in the term free or printable in your
content occasionally. Even geographic specific terms as well.
Long tail heaven!)
Ok, so now we have a page of unique content, our blog optimized,
and now we are ready to get this sucker indexed.
(At the time this was written, this was a free service. It is now $2.99
a month. We only need it for one month, so if you can swing it, great.
If not, just manually social bookmark your website in the structure
outlined below using various Social Bookmarking sites)
Sign up for a free social bookmarking account at
http://IMAutomator.com/
Once you have signed up, click the Tools button, then the Bookmark
Submitter button.
Click the Bookmark Submitter button, then click the button that will
say ‘+ Submit New’
Make sure you choose the 15 days option.
Now that we have links being drip fed to our blog over the next
while, this is where we decide on what sub-niches we are going to
target.
We want to make fast food restaurant specific categories now.
In fact, I am going to give you the best fast food restaurants to target.
Pizza Hut Coupons
Mcdonalds Coupons
Subway Coupons
KFC Coupons
Burger King Coupons
Arbys Coupons
Dairy Queen Coupons
Wendys Coupons
Taco Bell Coupons
Those are sorted by popularity.
So what you want to do is go in and make a category for each of
those restaurants.
Now it is time to write 9 blog posts.
NINE?
Like my old boss used to tell me.
“Shawn, we are not building a grand piano!”
Look at my site.
These are not works of art.
We just need to give Google some content to love.
Again, DON'T just copy and paste my content.
Use it as a model.
One thing I cannot stress enough is to NOT write and submit all 9 on
the same day.
One a day max.
WHY you ask?
Two reasons.
We don't want Google going, “oh, look another person cranking out
another site just made for Adsense”.
Second reason is, I want you to get into a routine.
Set aside 30 mins a day for a blog post.
You should be able to write out a sucker in about 15 mins tops.
Make sure you assign each article to the correct category as well.
Then you are going to want to build a few backlinks.
This is where it gets easy.
Head over to http://socialmonkee.com/ (still the best FREE social
backlinker available)
Every blog post that you make, put it in social monkee (the first 9
posts). With the free account, you will get 25 submissions a day.
That is PLENTY.
Make sure that they are spread out over 14 days.
Guess what?
You are done for now.
Let the site sit for two weeks after your last blog post.
WAIT.
Yes, we are letting your site adjust, simmer, dance around, settle into
Google and THEN we take the next step.
What is that you ask?
Well, you have a couple of options here.
You can monetize it at this time.
Here is a free report from Norma Rickman on optimizing your
adsense placement on your new site.
Norma is the 'Adsense Queen'.
Her guide will show you exactly the best way to optimize your
Adsense placement.
If you do not have an Adsense account, or for some reason you have
been banned, you can also use these two
http://chitika.com
http://media.net
So now you can go a few different directions 


Build out another coupon site in a different niche
Go deeper in each restaurant niche (or whatever coupon niche
you decided to go with)
Start building more links
1- If you want to go into a different coupon niche, just follow the
same model I just laid out.
For instance, you could do a site JUST on pizza restaurants, or JUST
on healthy fast food restaurants like Subway.
2- Under each category in your site, you can go deeper, not just one
post about the restaurant. You can go menu specific. Just Google the
restaurant and you will be able to dig up their menu.
You would be surprised how many people search for coupons
specifically by menu items.
This rings especially true for McDonald's.
3- Building more links.
This is one I would do anyways. Remember we added in the
different months of the year at the end of our blog?
Well, start linking to your site a month early for terms such as
McDonalds coupons February 2012 before the month starts.
Talk about knowing what people will be searching for before they
start ;)
First, you need to take the first step.
Go buy a domain.
Get hosting.
Install your blog.
Clean it up.
Add one 'static' page.
Add your 9 categories.
Add one post each and do the linking as outlined.
Wait two weeks after your last post and monetize and then decide the
direction you would like to go.
The point of this WSO is to get you out of the rut you are in.
This WSO is all about taking ACTION on one thing.
This will roll into another and another.
When you have been working online and never made a single cent,
and you get your first traffic or Adsense click, you will be more
ecstatic than I can tell you.
Personally, this is exactly what I would doBuild out a general site like the one we just went over.
We will call it the ‘Daddy Site’.
Then take each sub-niche, and build small sites too. You will have
one massive site that you can drill down deep and wide in, and
several others that can be as simple as 10 pages deep.
When you are adding additional posts to the sub-niches on your sites,
for example if you are writing about thin crust pizza at Pizza Hut,
100 words is sufficient. Even 50 would. The title of your blog post is
most important.
For your ‘Daddy Site’, all it would take is 15 minutes to write a new
blog post and get one link to that post.
Do that once daily.
Do you realize what we are doing here? We are getting LOADS of
kw’s thrown at us by Google by adding fresh content + for a lack of
a better term, we are ‘keyword stuffing’ without looking like it!
The other sites, if you are consistently building them out, are almost
set and forget sites.
Imagine having several 10 page coupon/date specific sites in your
arsenal. Install http://statcounter.com/ on your sites and keep an eye
on your statistics.
If one of them starts popping, hit them with a round of Fiverr links
like I outline below.
Just remember with all of your sites, when it comes to additional
linking, when using anchor text links, start linking to your sites for
example ‘pizza hut coupons March 2012’ starting in February. Then
you are WAY ahead of the competition.
Guess what? When 2013 rolls around your site(s) already have a
years age on them. (yes, it’s OK now to rub your hands together with
the possibilities here)
BACKLINKS
The almighty question now is about continued backlinks. You want
simple?
Here it isFor every post that you make after your 9 original posts (that we
linked with Social Monkee), do one manual social backlink. There
are literally 100’s of social bookmarking sites out there. Diversify it.
Remember after you have your main posts done in each category, we
are only writing 50-100 word posts. Menu specific items. Different
kinds of TV’s if you are doing an electronics coupon site.
This whole process takes no time at all!
If you are feeling enthusiastic and want to write an article, feel free,
but with this niche, a social backlink is just fine.
The SECOND thing I would do, is about a month after you build
your site, head over to Fiverr.
Look for someone who will build you between 50-100 high pr
profile links. Vary up your anchor text. Do this once every 3-4 weeks.
In Fiverr’s search bar, just type in ‘high pr links’ and you will find
LOADS of gigs…
When I say various anchor texts, I mean like ‘fast food coupons
2012’ or ‘best buy coupons 2012’.
~This is where this WSO could just stop and I can turn you loose.~
Well, there is a bonus section here I am including.
I want you to read this next sentence very carefully.
USE THIS NEXT IDEA AT YOUR OWN RISK
It is not my intention to now or ever lead you down a road that is
unethical or illegal.
This falls into neither category, but after a trademark scare from a
site I owned, I don’t follow this strategy anymore, though if you feel
that the benefits outweigh the risks, this is a way to FAST TRACK
the process.
I want you to look at a couple of screenshots here and tell me if you
notice something…
Do you see the commonality of those three sites?
They are using the actual name of the Store/Restaurant in their
domain names.
This will greatly increase your ability to rank and soak up long-tails
in a certain ‘Store/Restaurant specific’ coupon niche.
Now I am not saying to go this route. I tangled with a pretty big
company a while back and all that came from it was me losing my
site, so there are risks.
You just need to weigh the pros and the cons.
So there you have it.
Coupons. Authority/Directory style. A goldmine. Now you know
how.
DO IT!
Sincerely,
Shawn Anderson
A couple of last thingsIt is always good to have a Privacy Policy, Contact Us and
Disclaimer page on your site.
You can download all of them for free through your dashboard.
Just enter the keyword of the plugin you want, hit search plugins and
bingo, presto, you will get a list of instant access plugins for the
