The roar of motorcycles and the sound of sirens
announced the beginning of the Hillbilly Christmas in
July Ride for the Kids. Hundreds of motorcyclists
LEXINGTON
Motorcycles filed into Harley-Davidson of Pikeville,
KY, for the 8th Annual Hillbilly Christmas in July also
known as the Randy Jones Memorial Ride. Their destination was Shriners
Hospitals for Children® - Lexington and upon their arrival at the county line,
they received a police escort to the hospital. Once there, they were treated
to refreshments and watched a Lexington Fraternal Order of Police
demonstration of motorcycle safety. The next week, the group brought toys
and a donation to the hospital and “Harley Claus” gave each child a present.
“This is why we ride and giving toys and financial support to our hospital is what we do,” said
Jimmy Kinney, a founding member of the charity ride.
