We have had the distinct honor of competing in so many of Virginia’s outstanding marching band competitions over the years and appreciated the hard work each school’s staff and families have put into their respective events. We hope that we can return the hospitality to all of you today. As a band parent, I understand so well the hard work and dedication music students put into their performances. Over the past few years I have been thrilled to watch so many marching band members cultivate their craft and perform with pride and distinction. I am excited to see so many students display excellence on the marching band field. I also want to say a special thanks to the Battlefield High School staff and administration, the Band Support Organization, and Battlefield students for working so hard to make today’s event a success.
