It provides the foundation for further scuba training, while staying fun and accessible. DISCOVER SCUBA The Discover Scuba Diving program allows you to breathe underwater for the first time, an often exhilarating experience, using full scuba gear! Under the direct supervision of an instructor in a pool environment, you can try on scuba gear, and get a feel for what scuba diving is like. A professional instructor will introduce you to the basics during a single three hour session beginning in the classroom and concluding with an actual dive in the Cranberry Waterpark pool. You may then continue with the Open Water Diver Certification class beginning in July. You’ll learn the knowledge and skills necessary to become a fully certified Scuba Diver. The class will meet for 5 sessions with a classroom seminar and pool dive each session. All equipment is provided for the pool dives and the text is included in the cost of the program. Four additional dives in an open water environment are required for PADI certification. These will be scheduled through the instructor. Participants must be able to swim 8 lengths of the pool, tread water for 10 minutes and be in good health. After you’re certified you will be qualified to dive all around the world.
