Wedding Guidelines and Policies

Once a private estate, One&Only Ocean Club rests between miles of pristine beach
and exquisite gardens inspired by the romantic grandeur of Versailles. Fragrant
blossoms of hibiscus and bougainvillea, along with hand-laid rock ridges and stone
steps, ascend the terraced garden decorated with bronze and marble statues from
Europe. At its apex stand the dramatic arches of a 12th-century Augustinian cloister
boasting spectacular sunset views over Nassau Harbour.
As couples-to-be exchange vows in this regal setting or on the beach deck
overlooking the spectacular Bahamian shoreline, they are captured by the moment of
romance and sense of place that is unique to One&Only Ocean Club. For here, bliss

With the spectacular Bahamian blue waters as a backdrop, the Beach Deck is
an exceptional location for nuptial celebrations or intimate dinner
receptions.(Maximum capacity- Ceremony 100 guests / Cocktail Reception
80 guests / Dinner 60 guests)
Overlooking the Versailles Pool, the Pool Terrace is a covered venue that
serves as an elegant location for dinner receptions. (Maximum capacityDinner 80 guests / Cocktail Reception 120 guests)
At the top of the Versailles Gardens stands the dramatic arches of a 14thcentury Augustinian Cloister that boasts a spectacular view of the sunset over
Nassau Harbour. The Cloisters serve as a picturesque location for nuptial
celebrations. (Maximum Capacity- 120 guests (used only for ceremonies)).
The exquisite Gardens inspired by the romantic grandeur of Versailles are the
ideal location for weddings or dinner receptions under a tent. (Maximum
Capacity-Ceremony 120 guests / Dinner 120 guests (1st and 2nd tiers of the
gardens from the Pool Terrace with required tent rental).

In order to reserve the Versailles Gardens or the Beach Deck, at any time of the year,
a minimum of 10 guestrooms, staying for a minimum of three nights, is required.
One&Only Ocean Club requires a minimum initial deposit of $10,000.00 for all
groups to guarantee contracted guestrooms and function requirements.
Couples wishing to be legally married in The Bahamas must obtain a Bahamian
marriage license and must be in The Bahamas at the time of the application. The
Bahamas Law states that the couple must be resident in The Bahamas for 24 hours
prior to the date of the application. A Bahamian-issued marriage license is valid for
90 days for those seeking early application. The resort’s Celebration Consultant
works together with the local consultant and the couple-to-be, facilitating details and
assisting with arrangements.
Beach Deck, Versailles Gardens or Cloisters Ceremony
The price for a two hour location rental is $3,500.00 and includes:

Catering and Function Space Requirements
One&Only Ocean Club requires a minimum of 20 people for private catered events
held at the resort. If less than 20 persons are planned to attend, then a catering setup
fee of $1,000.00 will be added for each reception or dinner, or $500.00 for each
breakfast, brunch or luncheon. The total group number may not exceed 120 people
for a reception.
Functions seating more than 80 people will require tenting (minimum of 3,200
square feet) to protect guests against inclement weather. Tenting is an additional
cost. Tents can not be installed more than 2 days prior to the event.


For a four-night or five-night program, the group must host at least two
catered events (one event must be a dinner).
For a six-night or seven-night program, the group must host at least three
catered events (one event must be a dinner).
Thirty (30) days prior to the group first arrival date, a final program of events
is required in order to secure specific daily requirements. The guaranteed
number of guests is required no later than 72 hours prior to each function
Resort Policies





All music and entertainment must end at 10:30 pm. Fireworks must end at
9:30 pm.
All food & beverage must be provided by the resort and are exclusive of
services charges.
A group contract must be signed, and initial deposit received, before a
group’s guestrooms and function space are considered definite.
One&Only Ocean Club’s pool, tennis and beach services are available strictly
to guests staying at the One&Only Ocean Club resort.
Functions seating more than 80 people will be held outdoors and requires
tenting (minimum of 3,200 square feet) to protect guests against unexpected
weather changes. Tenting is an additional cost.
Signage and Decoration
Signs may only be posted in private function areas where they are seen solely by
group guests.
Signs must be professionally printed and their placement (as well as all decorations
and display) must be pre-approved by the Resort Management. No signs or meeting
support materials shall be posted, nailed, screwed or otherwise attached to walls,
floors, or other parts of the building, trees or furniture without prior resort approval
and supervision.
Outside Vendor Services
One&Only Ocean Club recommends the use of specific outside vendors for support
services, including: destination management (transportation and local excursions)
and audio/visual. Use of any non-recommended vendors for these services requires
the pre-approval of the Resort Management. Non-Bahamian vendors require a
temporary work permit in order to conduct services in The Bahamas.
It is the responsibility of the vendor to secure a permit and any necessary paperwork
prior to arrival, and otherwise may face deportation.

The use of non-recommended vendors will require resort personnel on hand to
protect its facilities; therefore the resort may charge an additional fee. If it is
necessary to connect any A/V or decorations to a ceiling or supporting structure of
the resort, there must be approval from the Resort Management prior to installation.
Obtaining a Marriage License in The Bahamas











Application for License: The couple must be in The Islands Of The Bahamas at
the time of application for the marriage license.
If you arrive via cruise ship you will be required to obtain a letter from the
ship's purser, confirming that you have met the residency period by being in
Bahamian waters for twenty-four hours.
There is no need for a license if you wish to renew your vows.
Apostille: Many countries now require that official documents, such as
international marriage certificates, be certified by the issuing country. In The
Bahamas, this means that an Apostille (a special seal) is applied by the relevant
authority to certify that a document is the original copy. The Apostille can be
made available to you within thirty days of the request. Your Wedding
Planner or Marriage Officer will assist you in this regard.
Residency Period: Couples may apply a day after their arrival and can be married
once they receive their approved license the day after application.
Divorced: If either party has been divorced, the original final decree or a
certified copy must be produced. Where applicable, a translated, certified and
notarized copy of the final decree must be produced.
Widowed: If either party is widowed, the original death certificate or certified
copy must be produced. Where applicable, a translated, certified and
notarized copy of the death certificate must be produced.
Single Persons: If either party is single and has never been married before, a
declaration certifying this fact must be sworn before a notary public or other
person authorized to administer oaths in the country of residence. This
document must accompany the application for the marriage license. This
declaration can also be obtained in The Bahamas from an attorney-at-law or
notary public.
Minors: Minors (under 18 years) may be married with both parents' consent.
Consent forms for minors are available at the Registrar General's office.
Proof of Identification and Residency: Both parties must produce a valid passport,
birth certificate and photo ID. The parties must also produce evidence of the
date of their arrival in The Bahamas. The Bahamas Immigration Card or entry
stamp in your passport will suffice.
Blood Test: No blood test is necessary.

Fees: The fee for a marriage license is $120 inclusive of one certified copy of a
marriage certificate. Extra marriage certificates are available at $20 each.
Note: Marriage licenses are issued at the office of the Registrar General in Nassau.

Terms and Conditions
In order to reserve the Versailles Gardens or the Beach Deck, January through May, a
minimum of 15 guestrooms, staying for a minimum of three nights, is required. June
through December, a minimum of ten guestrooms, staying for a minimum of three nights, is
required.
It is resort policy that all food and beverage must be purchased through One&Only Ocean
Club.
