In the midst of our excitement over our new music we are also filled with deep sorrow at the loss of one our
most beloved contributors. J. Paul Williams died on February 17th of leukemia. He had been diagnosed
only 3 1/2 weeks earlier.
In his creative life, Paul published over 900 compositions and sold millions of copies of music.
He collaborated with dozens of noted composers and filled sanctuaries everywhere with
encouraging words of praise. His thoughtful approach to lyric writing was always based on
Scripture and had an authenticity born from his own faith journey. Paul’s words opened windows of understanding in the hearts of thousands of people the world over and the echoes of
his beautiful poetry will continue to resound through the halls of our sanctuaries for years to
come. I wrote over 400 anthems with Paul during our almost 20 years together. I am proud of
the work we did and I will never forget this gentle man and his impact upon my life.

his integrity and his love for Jesus. Ironically, Paul has more texts in this new release than ever before. As

legacy of praise he has left us. Farewell for a season my dear friend, we really have no words to adequately
express our grief… but thanks to you we have a lifetime of words to express our hope and love.

In the midst of our excitement over our new music we are also filled with deep sorrow at the loss of one our
most beloved contributors. J. Paul Williams died on February 17th of leukemia. He had been diagnosed
only 3 1/2 weeks earlier.
In his creative life, Paul published over 900 compositions and sold millions of copies of music.
He collaborated with dozens of noted composers and filled sanctuaries everywhere with
encouraging words of praise. His thoughtful approach to lyric writing was always based on
Scripture and had an authenticity born from his own faith journey. Paul’s words opened windows of understanding in the hearts of thousands of people the world over and the echoes of
his beautiful poetry will continue to resound through the halls of our sanctuaries for years to
come. I wrote over 400 anthems with Paul during our almost 20 years together. I am proud of
the work we did and I will never forget this gentle man and his impact upon my life.

Paul was one of a kind. We will remember his colorful shirts, his sense of humor, his love of life, his loyalty,
his integrity and his love for Jesus. Ironically, Paul has more texts in this new release than ever before. As
you listen to his final work, please remember to pray for his family and to say a prayer of thanksgiving for the
legacy of praise he has left us. Farewell for a season my dear friend, we really have no words to adequately
express our grief… but thanks to you we have a lifetime of words to express our hope and love.
