Places to visit Wardown Park Museum Stockwood Discovery Wardown Park Museum is Centre situated in a beautiful Victorian House within a landscaped park, close to Luton’s town centre. The museum includes the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment Gallery and the popular Luton Life Gallery featuring the history of Luton’s industries and communities. It also features an ever-changing hat and lace collection. A cosy tearoom serving drinks and snacks and museum shop selling souvenirs, local history publications and old photographs is located on the ground floor. Free entry. Stockwood Discovery Centre is a treasure trove of exhibitions and beautiful gardens, best known for its famous Mossman collection of carriages — the largest collection of its kind on display in the UK. It has an extensive local collection, changing exhibitions, a children’s playground and a popular Garden Café. It is also a paradise for garden enthusiasts and one of the few places in the country where the work of acclaimed artist Ian Hamilton Finlay can be seen on permanent display. Free entry. The kitchen cafe (ground floor) serves delicious, fairly-sourced hot food and drink.
